Agree with you there. the price of these things is ridiculous..what makes it so expensive? it can't be the engine, I can find a running vet engine and tranny with in the scrap yard for less than 5 bills..

It has a Cadillac Northstar. Im sure its has upgraded cams. A stock Northstar would have a HELL of a time pulling the front of a Buckshot off the ground like that guy did. Its probably either a Redline Performance or CHRFAB motor.
The engine depends on how much money you want to spend. For the most part people who have the coin to buy an x5 will at least but a LS1 engine in it which is the stock engine that has been in a corvette since the late 90's. I know a guy who has a X5 with a supercharged LS6. It will ride a wheelie going down any hill. More power then you would ever use.

Almost all of Andrews Bucks early X-5s had Northstars in them. Northstars were big in the sand before LS-1s were.
