I think Jerry was in the house - you can hear his echo-ey voice - it is just not apparently plugged into the soundboard feed that this audio was mastered from.
But awesome job whoever is doing the video/audio mastering - this is some golden material to stumble on randomly on youtube. Thanks @SBDMusic!!
I have over 400 tapes god knows how many hours and yet I am about to watch an entire concert that is one tape I do not have on YouTube of all things. God love technology and god bless the Grateful Dead
be easy guys...donnas just adding a female flare...you cant judge it unless you were there at this specific show...the energy at the actual show is profound when trying to capture the essence of a performance
Just mooved to upper Haight 2 blocks from 710 Ashbury right on the Panhandle been in SF 7 years first show S.P.A.C. '85 $10 tix avail until 2:30 day of... Scarlet-Stranger
sorry to Donna bash a little more...but those were some of my favortie years of the Dead, too...the 70's.,.when they were old enough to be in their prime but not worn out yet...I just wish I didn't have to listen to her mouth...that's it...I'm done...
yea...hearing Donna wailout is painful sometimes...she just should have tried to slip in as a back up singer but she took charge with those pipes...Weir and Jerry's voice didn't stand a chance when she "caterwauled"....good word, Jack...
anyway...if I went to see the Dead and Jerry's mic went out on this song and I had to listen to Donna I would not be happy....especially not on DIre Wolf...this song was built for Jerry's twangy vocals...
donna was horrible live. she even sticks her finger in her ear to help her hear herself in the vocals and she is still horribly out of key and awful. other than that the instruments are awesome.
@sirfev Any of the keith/donna years pretty much rocked though 78 is right up there in maybe the the 2, 3 best years of the entire 30 year pantheon. However I would submit that even though they only played 4 shows , 75 is the absolute best year ever
Still having trouble with Jerry's mike? on the second song of the set. Still fun to watch....thanks for sharing this. Very rare treat to see them from '78.
Tooooooo bad about Jerrys mic! Stilllllllllllllllllllllll Llllllllllllllllllllove this!

Either the sound is awful or this was not the Dead's best night.

Donna caterwauling again. Can understand why Weir said there will never be another woman in the Grateful Dead!
