In my view, those who say: I AM ME, I FOLLOW NO ONE, MY OWN VIEWS, ME, MYSELF, ME, MINE, ME, (etc) are usually the characteristic traits of those that are NOT team-players.

Well said! As a community member, I support leaders that walk the talk and leaders that are action-takers (not talkers-and-no actions).

It is often mistakenly assumed that if we support strong and proven leaders, it means we do not have our own ideals and values, and just follow them. INCORRECT.

Individually, I own my ideals and values. I try to work with others collectively based on our same goals even thou all of us have somewhat diff views. Impossible to have ALL EXACTLY SAME VIEWS.

I agree with you falz. Yes, we have our own ideals and values. And we will (or should) work with and support those leaders who endorse and work toward achieving our ideals and values. Doesn't mean that we are blindly following, just helping them to get what we want by giving them our support.

All of us are equal, all of us follow our own ideals and values, but as a community, we do need people to lead the work of getting our culture, language and way of life recognized and to help stop the damage to Deaf children's education, language and futures, right?

It is good to have leaders leading towards a cause that is good for humanity. Yes!

But it freaks me out when I am being told to to follow someone's ideology.
