  • please someone tell me how to play the guitar part, I could listen to that sound 24/7

  • Back in the day every song I listened to could stir me up, but years later this is one of the only songs that still makes me tear up every time. Proper beauty

  • no matter how much life gets you down, this song just brings you up so much. The violins make me feel so calm

  • At 25.844 I clicked on "I Like This" VOTE .We have stop by today to just listen.

so many have stop by to do the same .If we can VOTE on the same thing ,and listen and agree on the Peace of this Music.then there is Hope.We all here want love and peace and happiness for The Children so they can take it with them to the future.Jesus is Lord!

  • Those strings are genius, like Wagner's Lohengrin

  • pure love

  • My interpretation...........

Yes I dont know, Yes I dont know how I, Just how I feel, I love, Yes im all over you, Just how I feel

  • @partypooper1981 That's the best interpretation ive heard :)

  • @speedybill47 lol thanks man ive listened to it enough times.

  • this is the most beautiful piece of music my ears have ever heard

    god bless sigur ros

let beautiful music bring us all together as one

    peace

  • That flickering image of the boy going in and out of focus at the end perfectly mirrors the longing in the strings: It's like a slowly fading memory...

  • sigur ros, and radiohead´s drummers are monsters!

  • "Hopelandic" is the Sigur Ros version of bebop. It's all nonsensical syllables, and it's made so that listeners come up with their own lyrics and song meaning instead. I also think it allows the listener to enjoy the instruments as well, which are wonderful. That lazy electric guitar sound- It's lovely. :)

  • If you don't find that to be beautiful there's a good chance you are dead.

  • Beautiful is an understatement. The ethereal

    Sound

    Of it. Like

    If the

    World was

    Going

    To end

  • Jonsi has the most beautiful, amazing voice. Saw them live in 2008, they were totally awesome, made me cry, they sounded so beautiful. A very talented group, not widely known and they should get more recognition for their music.

  • I never want this song to end. As previously stated, heartbreakingly beautiful is a good way to describe it. The music is so powerful it evokes so many emotions and all run through me at once, I can't even hardly handle it. I tear up everytime. It's saddening, but peaceful and passionate and romantic all at the same time. A possible choice for my wedding and funeral music, definitely.

  • most beautiful song ive ever heard, no joke

  • anyone have the lyrics of this song? i googled it many times i could't find it , it 's supposed to be written in a language called Hopelandic ?.. any idea how can i get the lyrics?

  • @Labanita89 Well, the lyrics are in hopelandic, which is a "language" made by Jónsi, it's like a combination of icelandic and english sounds, but it has no structure, grammar or anything else. So, there aren't lyrics for this song, If you want to sing along, listen careful and learn the "words" he sings, it works. You'll find that he repeats the same sounds all along. Cheers!.

  • @ThanatosSagenev So Im just gonna sind alond to what I hear :D

Love the song so much :)

  • @ThanatosSagenev Actually he's singing in English: not Hopelandic. All of the lyrics are English. Listen. Learn. Oh, and thanks for the wikipedia definition of "Hopelandic".

  • @Labanita89 well i guess this is what i understand from this song; You saw the whole You sighed oh no oh life You sighed all for You sighed oh no You sighed only should I- -I know I love you You saw no one for You don't know I would You You don't love you You don't know, how could You don't know I would You You don't know you
  • @Labanita89 i think this is You saw the whole You sighed oh no oh life You sighed all for You sighed oh no You sighed only should I- I know I love you You saw no one for You don't know I would You You don't love you You don't know, how could You don't know I would You You don't know you
  • anyone get the lyrics of this song ?

  • Whenever I listen to this song, I never wont it to end. I just want that violin part to just keep playing and breaking my heart.

  • There are no words to describe how this song makes me feel. It's truly heartbreaking. Tragic, yet it gives a feeling of peace. Beautiful

  • he doesnt sing in 'hopelandic', he uses his voice as an instrument and makes up sounds or words. he said all this in an interview i saw a while back

  • @dancecommander3582 that is what 'hopelandic' is .. that is apparently the name they've given to his particular style of vocalizing.

  • @dancecommander3582 Which the bandmembers themselves choose to call "hopelandic" :)

  • heartbreakingly beautiful

  • ahhh. i love this too much.

  • there is hope for mankind.

  • gorgeous, still my favourite SR track

  • the violins at the end are the most heartbreaking thing i've ever heard..

  • This song brings me tears in my eyes.

    Feels like i'm in heaven.

    This is..

    Beatiful!

  • I love the cadence at the end where you think it's going to end and then....it comes right back in....and then out, and then in again....fantastic.

  • i get exactly the same feeling!!! like you try and count how mainy times times it happens but you always get lost in it! simple beautiful!

  • There are almost no words to describe the incredible emotion here. It sounds like he's singing: "you sighed, oh no. You so love few. You so know woe fire. You sunlight, you". Just my interpretation here.

  • the band is from iceland. nice try though.

  • ummm, no kidding. I'm fully aware that they are Icelandic. I'm just saying that it "sounds" like they are saying those words.

  • although the song is sung in sigur rós' vonlenska, or hopelandic if u wish

  • this is correct!!!

  • yep your right, some of the phrases are similar if not identical to (), i love it when they sing in hopelandic!

  • yes they are icelandic, but the song itself is actually hopelandic, the singer sings in it sometimes

    for instance this song

  • this is beyond music for me its just flowing emotions and feelings. Its beautiful.

  • The violins at the final part... can't describe the emotions... I just lose myself in nowhere... simply beatiful

  • they have to play sigur ros at my funeral

  • this song is beautiful.

  • Spectacular

  • always pulls the heart strings that one. Beautiful.

  • i wish they played andvari in Heima.

  • I think the same...This is a jewel.

  • hey, does anybody know the name of the last song they played at this gig, and therefore in the dvd. its the really hard, atomospheric, hard bass , kinda dud, dud, dud , dud, dud, (crap description) which last for at least 7 mins. thank you

  • sounds like your describing Untitled #8 from (). They close with that song a lot.

  • Thanks very much

  • could also be Hafsol. The bassist uses a drumstick. Could be it as well.

  • Thank you so much for adding this. There are no words to describe it. :)

  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. Truely heart-warming/breaking.

  • This song is just so gorgeous. Would love to see them in concert one day, must be an amazing, magical experience!

And yes...as others have said: the ending is just...wow...

  • It sure is, sure is ....

  • most amazing song ever......

  • PLEASE let them play Andvari at Bonnaroo! PLEASE!!!!

(It's my absolute favorite Sigur Ros song!)

  • tom101086, no its not

  • does anyone know if andvari is on heima?

  • it´s on Takk ...

  • Cheers I've got Takk and Heima came in the post yesterday. Absolutely class. The Scenery coupled with the music was amazing, particularly enjoyed the glacier creaking along.

  • Cannot stop listening to this song, the ending is just . . . .

words cannot explain. only your feelings can.

  • I can't BELIEVE the ending to this song. I physically can't believe it. How something so simple - three chords. Three chords on strings. Over and over again.

I haven't heard anything so heartbreaking in my ENTIRE life. Heartbreaking.

  • its amazing, i know

    unbelievable

  • como le haces para saber eso¡?

  • como le haces para saber eso?

  • This is...can´t find words...it´s snowing outside at the moment, i walked through the city and nobody was on the street...just snowing...and this song in my player...feel confused...upset...irritated...beautiful...ok, just listen to this song

  • nothing wrong with that post actually, if you ignore caps and read over few times, you can understand what he meant actually :)poor english skills made it difficult

  • Twiglet... no amount of cheese can convey how beautiful this song is. I listen to Takk virtually every day going to and from work and virtually every day it has me sobbing. Gotta see these guys live...

  • Long live Sigur Ros..great band, great song..but that heaven stuff is pure cheese. stilton in fact. absolute cheddar.

  • AH COMO AMO ESTA BANDAAAAAA!!!!!!
