Meant to say fight somebody who moves around a lot and that isn't stationary.and how you can use your footwork Im probably guessing its the same principle in western boxing
@copypacercopypacer wing chun is the name of a shaolin nun who got the style from shaolin monks who gathered and modified their fighting styles to suit her small femenine frame; they did it because they were afraid of their monastery being destroyed and theyr knowledge lost; she married and had children and taught the skill to them. See Ip Man and Bruce Lee... I believe actually Panantukan might have derive from Wing Chun since those Islands and Philipines were influenced.
@karloshaman panantukan is based off of the flow of using eskrima and kali stick and knife fighting. panantukan is indeginous to the philippine islands
@FranklinGray We integrate a lot of wing chun trapping because it involves the same range of combat. When you are close enough to do a limb destruction, you can follow up with straight punches.
No i see what you mean, and i respect what your saying and i believe that is right to an extent. but like in the video, hes blcoking with the points of his elbows, its not protecting his face, now what if someone was quicker and he comes in hard and fast with a jab or hook, would it not be hard to stop it with just the point of your elbow? Im coming from a boxing background.
@DenizGti We're not blocking with our elbows. We're smashing the knuckles. If you don't believe it, try punching somebody's elbow strike with no gloves full power and see how it feels.
and that underhand strike is good but it does not carry enough power to imobilize or redirect the much more powerful hook ..keep that guard up on ur outside and make sure you follow up with ur shot that at best unless ur 250 plus pounds is not gonna do much than stun the guy thats why we keep hitting him till he finds a comfortable place on the floor to take a nap lol
@DenizGti i have to say the pitter patter and suffing of the shoulders to prevent the punch while being so out of range is not smart with a hook at full speed youd definitely get knocked out dude when stuffing a punch try using the right hand to stuff the left punch but try being closer to the inside of the guy so ur force nullifies his, being out so far and doing that with ur chin in the air spells trouble while and vice versa. And with the the elbow comment by DenizGti ...
@DenizGti i dont think youve ever punched someone accidently in the elbow while them attemping to fend off your punch that crap hurts hard enough you could break your knuckle and whats a man without his dukes in the street ?? unless ur a grappler or muay thai fighter not much ... elbow are excellent defense against punches bcuz their both defensive as well as offensive tools ..you can knock someone out, counter punches, fight cqc use ur whole are to cover more of ur face when getting slugged
@DenizGti the potential is endless .. when u block with ur elbows ur whole arm protects the side of ur face ...its like wearin frieken headgear son!!! ... before ur run ur mouth on a subject i doubt u have any knowledge about come talk to the guru kid lol ...

Sorry but i dont think this would be useful in a fight at all, mainly the blocking with the point of your elbows part
