Why does the song have to about EITHER religion or fellatio? Can't the meaning be multi-layered? My personal interpretation is that she's drawing a parallel between passionate love and religious experience; both are supposedly euphoric and both involve some element of worship and devotion. Perhaps it does implicitly reference fellatio, but why should that cheapen the meaning? A sexual act can be a reflection of this religious-like love and devotion.
Or perhaps she's pointing out a sexual element to religious thought and practices. Either way, I think it's too clever to be dismissed as a "blowjob song lulz".

It's not the artist ,they are being directed.It's a move towards the dumbing down of makind and feed us subliminal crap and program us to evetually control us as sheep. Music happens to be a powerful medium that reaches millions,so they will exploit it to help attain their goal ! Total control.the artist has to follow or be replaced by less talented and inexperienced 13 year olds and boy bands !! Our reality

Why does the song have to about EITHER religion or fellatio? Can't the meaning be multi-layered? My personal interpretation is that she's drawing a parallel between passionate love and religious experience; both are supposedly euphoric and both involve some element of worship and devotion. Perhaps it does implicitly reference fellatio, but why should that cheapen the meaning? A sexual act can be a reflection of this religious-like love and devotion.
