@enticed2zeitgeist i know it comes in a pt gt version. they have the same mopar turbo's but i believe their manifolds are different. but they are both pretty much the same. personally i think the srt-4 is more convienient. it's bigger, fwd, 4 doors. probably cheaper on parts. just looks better and its bigger really.

just was reading over some of the comments, and wanted to put in the SRT-4 is actually badge a Dodge SRT-4, yes it is the PL platform but your not calling evo's, lancers, which they ARE badge as. also the guy saying he doesnt like american cars that has the eclipse, you do know that dodge and Mitsubishi have the same setups right? stealth and 3000gt are the same car, ecilpse and talon same car, the 420A engines can be found in both the ecilpse and dodge neon.

@starjack305 im not trying to be a dick im really just curious... are you sure the srt4 motor came from an old evo? as far as i know the block is the same as the n/a 2.4 block from chrysler that was used in the stratus. im pretty sure that this motor was never in an evo. and im also pretty sure that the srt4 motor is very similar to the 2.2 turbo that chrysler was using back in the 80s. like i said im not trying to be a dick, i really want the information if im wrong.

@02CaviTuner IMO an Evo is still a Lancer and an SRT4 is still a Neon.
That said the Evo is a lot further separated from the regular Lancer than the SRT4 is from the regular Neon. You can build an exact SRT4 replica without actually cutting the car up, you can't make an exact Evo replica without doing so. For one, Evo is AWD whereas the base Lancer is not, Evo is wider, uses an entirely different engine now, etc. The only thing they really share is the front doors and the roof.
@RotaryJunkie you do realize that the only things that would be the same is the shell and the FWD other then that the SRT has completely different everything. ive seen full body lancer conversion Evo's. and your Evo is STILL badge a LANCER, which the SRT is not badge a neon.
Shell, most of the suspension components, most of the interior, most of the body work (F/R bumpers and side skirts are "special" on the SRT4, that's it. Oh and the stupid wing), etc etc. Almost everything except the seats, bumpers, side skirts, wing, engine, trans, springs, shocks, sways is base Neon stuff.
You can call a Neon whatever you want, it's still a Neon. And very obvious about it at that.

@69vadim69 see i like getting into arguments with people who THINK they know about cars. heres a little bit of info that i just learned about the 420a motor like the one in your eclipse. the world record for a 420a non turbo is 218hp held by a guy named mark bullett. thats weird since yours has 245 isnt it? that motor is running a 12.5:1 compression ratio to achieve that much hp. if YOU knew shit about cars you would know that a turbo on a motor with that much compression would self destruct...
@69vadim69 also the consensus of 99.9% of dsm tuners is that the amount of money it would take to make even 200hp with a n/a 420a motor isnt worth it. another thing is you cant bore that motor out to a 2.2L. i think what you meant was it was bored over .020". that is not the same thing. also boring the cylinders during rebuild is not to add displacement or hp. its to smooth the cylinder wall so the pistons seal. you would stroke a motor to add displacement. you obviously dont know the difference

just was reading over some of the comments, and wanted to put in the SRT-4 is actually badge a Dodge SRT-4, yes it is the PL platform but your not calling evo's, lancers, which they ARE badge as. also the guy saying he doesnt like american cars that has the eclipse, you do know that dodge and Mitsubishi have the same setups right? stealth and 3000gt are the same car, ecilpse and talon same car, the 420A engines can be found in both the ecilpse and dodge neon.

@starjack305 im not trying to be a dick im really just curious... are you sure the srt4 motor came from an old evo? as far as i know the block is the same as the n/a 2.4 block from chrysler that was used in the stratus. im pretty sure that this motor was never in an evo. and im also pretty sure that the srt4 motor is very similar to the 2.2 turbo that chrysler was using back in the 80s. like i said im not trying to be a dick, i really want the information if im wrong.

@02CaviTuner IMO an Evo is still a Lancer and an SRT4 is still a Neon.
That said the Evo is a lot further separated from the regular Lancer than the SRT4 is from the regular Neon. You can build an exact SRT4 replica without actually cutting the car up, you can't make an exact Evo replica without doing so. For one, Evo is AWD whereas the base Lancer is not, Evo is wider, uses an entirely different engine now, etc. The only thing they really share is the front doors and the roof.

Shell, most of the suspension components, most of the interior, most of the body work (F/R bumpers and side skirts are "special" on the SRT4, that's it. Oh and the stupid wing), etc etc. Almost everything except the seats, bumpers, side skirts, wing, engine, trans, springs, shocks, sways is base Neon stuff.
You can call a Neon whatever you want, it's still a Neon. And very obvious about it at that.

@69vadim69 a few problems with your comment.. first the motor in my car is an A853, the car is a dodge srt4. it says srt4 on it because the car is an srt4. my car doesnt say neon on it anywhere. it says srt4 because that is the model. second, how are you making 245hp N/A? thats not happening even if it is bored out. which, btw, it still makes no sense to bore out a stock 420A. third, even if i did believe your car was making 245hp N/A that would mean you had to be running a fairly extreme....

@69vadim69 also the consensus of 99.9% of dsm tuners is that the amount of money it would take to make even 200hp with a n/a 420a motor isnt worth it. another thing is you cant bore that motor out to a 2.2L. i think what you meant was it was bored over .020". that is not the same thing. also boring the cylinders during rebuild is not to add displacement or hp. its to smooth the cylinder wall so the pistons seal. you would stroke a motor to add displacement. you obviously dont know the difference

@malfalurion14 i dont care if you call it a neon or not. however, it is a dodge srt4. not a dodge neon srt4. i know its based on a neon. thats why my name is turbo neon. but technically it's not called a neon. it was the original srt4 model. the caliber is called "caliber srt4" to differentiate it. just like there are 3 srt8 models. the grand cherokee, challenger and charger. so you cant say i have an srt8 cuz that doesnt specify which vehicle. srt4 by itself means the neon version. just saying.

@240sxGuy3 Why do I have these 2 240SX's? If you have read closely, I have been racing and building 240SX's for 12-13yrs. I know everyone has there opinion about cars. I'm just saying don't try talking shit about something you don't know about. AMS has one of the 7-sec SRT-4's. So I'm pretty sure they can drag just fine. And for the track, They are running in the time attack series. So another thing they are doing good in. As I can see your just a fat fucking retard.
