This would be really cool if the guitar were tuned better (or played better on the slight chance this is fretless but really...). i like the version better except the for the imprecision
I understand the reference, but there are dozens of names related to that game I can pull off the top of my head (ex. Blue Planet, Giant of Babil, The Dragoons, Four Lords of the Elements) all off which have no direct link to menstrual cunnilingus...
This is the only piece I've ever heard played entirely in a minor key that doesn't sound sad at all. Rather, it invokes an extremely awesome feeling of epicness. Uematsu is a genius, and this is a great cover.
Decent cover, and badass band name. I find that it lacks the feeling of struggle Zidan went through during that part but it as pretty nice all in all.
For one of the best songs in all of Final Fantasy IX (in my opinion), it was and is extremely overlooked/underutilized. This is the best mix I've heard of it.
Damn. As FinalFantasy fan i thought, lets see what crappy covers i find on the tube. but man. you guys are really awesome. hadn't thought this. and i dont mean only this song. give it some years of training, and maaan, you wouldnt even have to hide from the black mages. keep it on bros.
Nice Remixes. You really have talent for this. You are creative and you understand what's really important about these songs ;) You, my good sir, have my respect.
It starts out awesome. Second part of the build up needs less maniac piano and more dramatic strokes. The climax, just when the tempo speeds up needs more "umph!" More of powerful push, then lead into guitar. Repeating the melody of the fast part was a nice touch and added more emphases on the overall dramatic desperate feeling of the song. So, yeah. Good job guys, I love this song immensely, and you did it well.
I hope you do come back to this some day. Sure, it could use some polishing, but I really like what you did with having the piano collections version in the background of the first part, and then when the rock took over it was pretty cool. Great ideas in there. Hope to see a redo.
This is really well done. But it just seems to be lacking emotion. I mean, there's not a note out of place... but It's missing something to make it... well.. special. Very good though xD!
I agree. Thumbs down me all you want people, but I love the music from this game, and I believe a song like this has so much underlying passion that it's really not fair to the song to not have its true power exploited musically.
I saw that it was the first that this group had done, so there's certainly some leeway there. I'd love to see a remake!
This was the first track we ever recorded way back in 2006; Back then we honestly didn't know any better! Check out some of our newer stuff like Decisive Battle, Clash on the Big Bridge & Lava Reef for examples of more different ones.
Sometimes straight covers are good though! I think, anyway. We want to capture the essence of what the song is about.
Even here we added the piano (played from Piano Collections sheet music) and some basic harmonies. One day we're gonna redo this mind..
Really - yes, a bit. We're gonna redo this track. This was originally recorded in like 2005 - we were much less experienced then. Check the new tracks for the kind of stuff we do these days.
My absolute favorite FF song of all time! and you did an amazing job with it! Thank you so much! so few people remember this song, but it always just stuck with me somehow, you know?
Ehi! This song is wonderful!! I love it, but I can't download it in my computer from your website! The last time I download Aerith's Theme I did it, now i can't. Why?
Well I love the Black Mages as much as the next guy - they inspired us to start doing game music covers! But they didn't do this song and never have.
Nobuo Uematsu is the man who composed this (and most other FF tracks), and he is the organ player in The Black Mages. The 'performance' in game is just a midi... sadly nobody's official has ever done this live except for the piano solo version.
Either way, Nobuo is fully credited in the MP3 ID tags and on our website! He is a genius!
In a way. They're an official band and all of the members but one are musicians at Square have composed for various FF games. Most of the FF music is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, who plays organ in TBM, so they as a group are covering his songs.
The only song TBM themselves actually composed/arranged for the games was One Winged Angel for Advent Children and some of the other general music in the movie.
Though the individual dudes work on all sorts of Square Enix/FF games.
Again, they covered it... but they didn't compose it. FF7 came out in '97 and TBM didn't form 'til 2003. But like I said before all FF7's music was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, who is the organ player and one of the founding members of the band.
But as for original songs they composed as a group - they did (some) Advent Children music though Uematsu did the majority the group did the rock stuff, and they did a theme for a Japanese Wrestler... and a theme for a Japanese TV show, I think.
Yeah. Nobuo himself made most of the music up until FF10 I think and then broke away for more projects. TBM cover FF songs for fun and tyr to bring some life back into Nobuo's fav. pieces
This is really one of our older tracks so it isn't perfect... there are errors here and there. This was recorded way back in late '06 and we didn't have half the tools or knowledge then when it comes to recording that we do now...
I can't remember if we miced an amp or not for this...sometimes we do, sometimes we use a preamp direct. Way too long ago too remember... but again, our tools are better now, be it a mic or a preamp. :)
Yeah, I know... It's a pretty dated recording compared to the rest of the tracks. Literally by over a year. But still! Good to see the evolution of the style and stuff, I think! :)
If you check my profile there's FF7's Cosmo Canyon.. I also have Cid's Theme from FF7 and Battle/Decisive Battle from FF6. I'll upload these soon, so keep watching!

Up until 1:10ish needs either less distortion or more acoustic IMO. Ruins the calm tone.

all this needs is a little polishing with the guitar and it would be even more amazing.
Also you should put up like an orchestral version. Like sounds from the beginning on this version of the song

Thumbs up to the guitar player, nice performance. Needs a bit more groove still, like other people said before.
For my taste, the drummer makes a bit much of a "dingelilng", he needs to chill a bit, otherwise the song becomes so hectical.
