Private health insurance is an enormous rip off. For someone who is in PERFECT HEALTH, 49 years old, for an INDIVIDUAL-on NO PRESCRIPTIONS, to have to pay $500 A MONTH for ONE PERSON with a $500 deductible is nothing short of robbery. I doubt most people can't afford private insurance. It is NOT affordable. God help you if you have a family or a even one child-they will jack that insurance premium to $1,000.00 a MONTH with $500 deductible. $1,000 A MONTH. RIP OFF!!!!

You should know that Republicans only care about the Rich. They would rather care for the rich, and leave the middle/poor classes in the dust. That's a fact. Something needs to be done about health care. I pay $500 a month with a $500 deductible just to have insurance for ONE PERSON; I am in excellent health and on NO PRESCRIPTIONS and only 49 years old and I have to pay that much just to have health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield). THIS IS BULLSHIT!! And they keep on jacking up the cost every six months. This is like a house payment just to have freaking health insurance that I never use other than yearly physicals. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
I'd recommend an HSA for you then :). You have an insanely high deductible (like 2000) but you pay a lot less in premiums, and you can put money away pre-tax that you can draw tax free for health care purposes (doc visits etc.) plus your yearly physicals are free!
You have to be careful with these alternative plans such as Health Savings Accounts-they are *NOT* major medicals. I have a major medical. There are other health plans that cover $100,000.00 maximum per hospitalization per incident-the premiums are cheap, but if something major happens you are screwed.

You lower taxes and provide incentives for private business' to expand.

Lowering taxes has a higher multiplier than any other form of stimulus. You can go to the CBO to see that for yourself.
By lowering taxes its usually inferred that its for business more than individuals. It actually brings more revenue and over taxes does the opposite. Look up Laffer Curve.
Also its not the republicans solution to lower taxes its the science of economics that says so.

Did you know if a doctor orders just a few labs-say a CBC, Astra 8, lipid panel, that is going to cost about $600.00 if you have no insurance. For just a few labs. Add $200.00 just to see a doctor. Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. These Palinesque optics will lead them to a major defeat in 2010 and 2012. Life is beautiful.

No They are taxing big industrial companies that pass on the price to you They make enough profits where it should not make a difference but as always you blame the government not the greedy companies that pass the burden to YOU. you equate anti-cap and trade as anti environment. this is a logical fallacy. there are better more innovative ways of dealing with the problem instead of taxing people into a third world quality of life. we can generate green technology and get america off of fossile fuels without regressively taxing them. if americans dont have money to invest,there will be no innovation and the exploitation that we saw at the beginning of the labor movement will pale in comparison. its leading to that already

I am saying don't blame the government blame the companies. I am also saying that there should be a law that will make it illegal for them to pass on the price to YOU! They will still make money but they will grow at a slightly slower rate. Unless of course they change to green technology in which in that case they will get a tax break!

Of course the recovery will take time-it's hard to fix the damage of way over 10 years from greedy bankers with their LEGAL pyramid schemes thanks to bank deregulation (bank regulation was created as a safety net to prevent another depression). It's really very sad-this has brought a LOT of suffering-terrible suffering-to masses of people-while a select few are living off the hog due to BANK DEREGULATION. The dominoes fell. It's going to take time to repair the damage.

Private health insurance is an enormous rip off. For someone who is in PERFECT HEALTH, 49 years old, for an INDIVIDUAL-on NO PRESCRIPTIONS, to have to pay $500 A MONTH for ONE PERSON with a $500 deductible is nothing short of robbery. I doubt most people can't afford private insurance. It is NOT affordable. God help you if you have a family or a even one child-they will jack that insurance premium to $1,000.00 a MONTH with $500 deductible. $1,000 A MONTH. RIP OFF!!!!

cap and trade will selectively enforce its standards. big corporations will be fine because they can eat costs and pass others to us. up and coming companies will be stagnated. china and india will not abide by the standards that have been set for us, just as china doesnt participate in fair trade. this cap and trade idea is no better than NAFTA or GAT. jobs will pour out of the united states. industrial nations have stabilized populations. underdeveloped countries have exploding populations

there was a time when much of the world was green. they were growing grapes in greenland in the middle ages. we are within the mean temperatures of recorded history. cap and trade is not the be all end all ideal for environmental stewardship. getting off fossil fuels with viable replacements is. taxing the people who are all ready down will not spur growth.

Of course it is the governments duty to care for us. And religion and politics should be separate. You can't base a decision on "what would Jesus do?", or something like that. And we should have a combination of Capitalism and Socialism, aka a country with rich and successful people, but also people that are not left in the dust just because they have underpaying jobs.
It's time to look into the future. Don't decrease taxes cause it benefits us now. Look at the long term.

Something needs to be done about health care. I pay $500 a month with a $500 deductible just to have insurance for ONE PERSON; I am in excellent health and on NO PRESCRIPTIONS and only 49 years old and I have to pay that much just to have health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield). THIS IS BULLSHIT!! And they keep on jacking up the cost every six months. This is like a house payment just to have freaking health insurance that I never use other than yearly physicals. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

I'd recommend an HSA for you then :). You have an insanely high deductible (like 2000) but you pay a lot less in premiums, and you can put money away pre-tax that you can draw tax free for health care purposes (doc visits etc.) plus your yearly physicals are free!

You have to be careful with these alternative plans such as Health Savings Accounts-they are *NOT* major medicals. I have a major medical. There are other health plans that cover $100,000.00 maximum per hospitalization per incident-the premiums are cheap, but if something major happens you are screwed.
