I'm confused about the price of sugar, if this was set in 1620 and sugar was 6 p a lb...daily wage was 8p...but on the other documentary set 30 years earlier (feast at Christmas) it was so expensive that only the rich ladies could prepare cakes..even having their own room, as it was worth about 300 pounds in today's money. Wow, amazing how much diets must had changed being able to add sugar to food, never mind the new found spices to come.
