@ju66alo420 1. the spur was circled. The brake disc is on the front of the tranny. 2. It revved so high because it had no resistance when he hit the throttle. 3. The newer engines rev slightly when they are empty because they lean out when the fuel runs out.

A revo is probably a bad place to start for a frickin 13yr old.. Next time buy electric with a brushless so it won't have as many problems cause I'm pretty certain you can't fix them.. If you don't know the internal workings of these motors and how to tune them according to various climates and not knowing when ur motor is off center, these aren't for you...

@45darkromance .. Electrics are usually best for beginners because they require less knowledge (usually). When you say responsiveness you mean throttle? If throttle it's all about listening to ur motor and watching the exhaust cloud. if you hammer the throttle and it starts dying it's low speed or idle screw. If dying at speed, high speed needle. Once finally under speed how much smoke? Too rich or lean and itll die just the same. More info?, I think I can help.
