How to update kaoss ? Because I've inputed a cd and install a version 2.0 on computer, but how bring this version on kaoss pad ?

  • My Kp3 will not allow me to do this. When I hit shift and the sample pad, it just pops up two zeros to edit the start time. Please help!

  • @TheNonSeverus - So apparently there are people saying this feature doesn't exist on their KP3 but basically what you do is, record a sample - once the sample is recorded into the sample bank, hold the shift button and the sample bank button. it will flash double zeroes. then press the program knob like a button (upper right hand corner of the unit) it SHOULD then flash "3 r.-"

  • @GloriousJones The double zeroes pop up like you said, but when I click the program knob nothing happens.

  • @TheNonSeverus see my post below and check your firmware

  • hey man, appreciate you uploading this video. Was just wondering is there anyway of changing the default triggering mode? At the mo, my kp3 is always on 0 so there is a slight pause between a sample relooping which is not good for a drum beat etc. Is there anyway i could have 1 as my default so it just plays continuously. Thanks much :)

  • Yeah sucks I'm getting the edit length too. I want to do what you are doing !

  • hei man....did you compose the song yourself.....or did you get it from other device into the kp3??

  • Cheers man, this was really helpful. There's a lot to master in these little guys :D

  • how come every time I hit the shift and the sample bank i m getting a different page( the one that allows you to edit the length???

    thanks

  • Ah this tutorial saved me. I accidentally changed mine to always rewind the sample and couldn't figure out how to change it back X-)

  • does the kkp3 have the 16 beat rcoerding limitation like the kaossilator, where you can only record 16 beats over something like 110 bpms?

  • @coughlintm the kp3 allows you to record 16 beats at any tempo above at or above 73 BPM. weird, i know. below 73 BPM it only goes to 8.

  • Recognized the song instantly :P

  • Hello, great vid! I have this problem with my recently purchased Korg Kaoss Pad 3!

I formatted my SD card on my Kaoss Pad 3 but I have a problem while im trying to load the samples (in .wav format) which i have loaded on the SD card from my computer.

The KP3 seems unable to load the .wav samples so the KP3 gives me the indication "[--]" instead of numbers 00-99 than would be the normal thing for it to do.

Anyone any ideas what the problem might be pls?

    Thanks in advance.

  • did you get this figured out? I have the same issue.

  • this doesn't work for my kaoss pad, after shift + sample button pushing the knob doesn't change from the playback speed mode

  • I have thw same question that delavergadj has.

  • @TheLangtunes simply press the program knob, like a button.

  • @TheLangtunes update your kp3 to 2.0 version, it's impossible in the 1.x versions

  • Hey, this is absolutely amazing! I don't think I would have ever thought of trying that. Excellent man, pure excellence...

  • i got question i dj so ??on the kp3 can you use the effects to blend in your songs while you spin or to bring in a song or start up to a new song and use a effect at the same time ,an also can use the effects while you dj on your songs ?!?!?!? thanks please someone replyyy !!![::

  • @bringnoise77 I would not use the Kp3 in place of a DJ mixer if that's what you're asking. The kp3 is simply an effects processor. You can crossfade two samples in the sample banks. Sometimes when I DJ I use the kp3 to add reverb to the end of a song and then start a new song and sometimes that blending helps, but I would not use as a mixer. But yeah, as long as you have your DJ mixer running in to your kp3 via the RCA inputs in the back, and your RCA outputs running to your speakers.

  • Hi, I have a problem, when I press SHIFT + BANK A screen comes in 0.0 and not what you show, how it is to put that screen? Thanks.

  • Hi, on my KP3, when I press the SHIFT button and the sample button, I have the menu to change the volume of the sample, I can slice setting and set the start point by scrolling the PROGRAM knob but I don't find the menu to change the sample triggers.

    Any idea why?

  • @maxime859 good question. this is a tricky part of the kp3. to change the way the sample is triggered you actually have to hold SHIFT and then select your SAMPLE BANK. After that you need to actually PRESS the program knob (like you would a button) and that will bring up the sample trigger options which you can scroll trough using that same knob.

  • @GloriousJones Hey, thanks for the help with this, but I agree with Maxime in that it doesn't seem to work. I notice in your video that you, maxime and I are doing the same thing, but it sounds like in our units this only allows us to shift the start point of the sample. Hold shift, press sample, turn knob (or press and turn knob) has the same outcome+ shift sample start. For some reason, I can see that when you hit shift and the sample button, it brings up a different menu on the screen.

  • @Onewerdy i have heard a lot of complaints that this option is not available on all units! i have only messed with one other unit beside my own (huhhuh) and it included this feature. I read about it in the manual. that's how I found out about it.

  • @GloriousJones I believe it is a firmware issue that is causing the confusion. Version 1 does not support the trigger options and instead only allows for a playback start point edit (the screen displays 0. 0 rather than the #. -.-). Upgrade to the version 2.0 of the firmware and the problem should be solved.

  • @Massio89 I think you are right on the money with this.

  • @GloriousJones My KP3 came with an "New OS version 2.0 available" printed on the box. My KP3 had v1.04 on it and did not having these looping modes. I just updated to v2.0 and now I have them and working like in your demo. I guess it was cheaper to make new boxes for old inventory and let us update the KP3 rather than update the firmware themselves. Newer units probably shipped with v2.0.

  • Is there not a way to trigger a sample with one hit of the button, which will then play without looping and end at the end of the sample? much like the on and off sort of way but with an auto-off at the end instead of looping. Need something to trigger some dialogue for certain parts of a song at the hit of a button. have thought about getting the Kaoss Pad Pro so this knowledge could really help me to make a decision...

  • @ptr362 i think what you are looking for is the last way demonstrated in the tutorial. It works as a 'one shot' sample. Basically once you hit the sample bank button the sample will play from the beginning and will continue to play as long as you hold the button down. Once you release the button the sample will stop.

  • @GloriousJones That's the problem though, I need to let go of the button. So I need to hit it and have it play out without repeating while I get hands ready to play my synth...

  • @ptr362 in that case i think you want the 3rd way demonstrated. It will trigger the sample and then loop the sample indefinitely until you hit the button again. Once you hit the button again the sample will stop - but if you hit it again it will play again from the beginning.

  • @GloriousJones My hands will be too busy playing over parts to be able hit stop, which is why I asked. I suppose it's designed mainly for drum loops then. Thanks for the info though :)
