I like it. I think the whole "It Gets Better" thing is reductive, manipulative, exploitative and misleading, not to mention reductive and exclusionary. What about the straight kids who get bullied and commit suicide? Why are we putting such stringent labels on young people anyway? Kids hardly understand sexuality as it is, how irresponsible to label them as "gay" at such young ages.
It Gets Better isn't a phenomenon, it's propaganda.
If you really are gay, your negative message is the WRONG message to kids who are looking to older, more mature LGBT people for words of inspiration. If you have survived adolescence, then you know that you have the opportunity (especially in Berkeley) to make friends who are open-minded, to fall in love, and to make a better life for yourself. You know this. You should think hard about taking advantage of one of the best pro-gay phenomena in recent history to self-promote.
