  • I tink it's the TOS kind, it has only one card for all the notes [from left to right], I guess I should rather buy a keyboard with organ effects; thanks @paulj0557,

I will sell it, so if you want to offert don't think it twice.

  • @AlexGm008 Yes, this models has rather fake tone in the scope of organs. Too bad it's that model with just one chip running things. If that's how it's set up the overall tone of the organ is probably pretty bad even when operational. I do want to encourage you to explore getting a real organ simply because of the quality of the sound. I recommend you watch my organ playlists to see different types. Hammond L100,M100,T200,T500 are excellent & cheap! The T's have Leslie's built in:)

  • @AlexGm008 Whatever you do, if you like organ get a real organ. Getting something with organ sounds- even if it's a Nord or Hammond SK1 or SK2 is a big compromise. Especially when craigslist is filled every week with at least one great Hammond tone wheel organ for under $200 or free even! There is a Hammond T-262 on Columbus Craigslist for the past month for free. Just sitting there! It has great tone wheel generator, orchestral voices, built in Leslie and can be modded w/ online suprt

  • Man i need help... I bought a thomas playmate w-colorglo, but it seems that only d,e, and f sounds, the other keys dont work, ... any suggestions?? D:

  • @AlexGm008 Open the lid and look to see if it has 12 individual cards - one for each NOTE C thru B

There is usually a piece of paper stapled to the inside of the lid and it says witch note is which.

Okay, now if the cards have a little screw on the end of the circuit board holding it down remove it for each note not working so you can unplug the cards and clean the contacts. Go to Radio Shack and buy DEOXIT and clean each contact- clean both the little aluminum pins & card contacts...

  • @AlexGm008 ...cont. Once those are clean the notes should sound.

IF you don't have cards your model is using TOS chips for note generation, in which case you are looking at more money and time tracking down the chips, but you can find them from a supplier in a search for Thomas Organ Parts. Careful how you handle logic chips because static can destroy them. I actually have a Thomas 287 I've been looking for a reason to scrap so if they are the same chips...tell me your org-MODEL #

  • @AlexGm008 ( 3rd message) Okay, I looked up the Playmate and they started selling those in 77', which is when Thomas organs were mostly going to TOS ( top order synthesis, one Master Oscillator tuned entire organ and a common oscillator kept the time for frequency (mathematically) divided tone generation). However, according to the E-organ List many organs listed as IC tone generation could go either way...since the Playmate was an entry level maybe the early ones weren't TOS? Mod#?

  • At 14:03 is a very awesome Thomas spinet adapted for portable use by a very creative and practical home built road case. It closes up into two separate cases. Now why didn't I think of that?

  • FINALLY AM UPLOADING ALBUM COVER OF THIS FELLA! JUST CLICK ON MY NAME, paulj0557

It's probably just going to be the same music as this video, but with the front and back of the record. I don't have photo editing software on my computer so it might not be the greatest, but you'll see Harry Wach in the mid 70's on the front cover of this album anyway.

  • Lawrence Welk's Bob Ralston played Thomas organs on the show. Check out The Lawrence Welk Show for plenty of Thomas organ vids or just go to my playlist-

'Organ Tunes even Organ Haters will love!'

  • It would be cool to see the Thomas Palace 3 played.

  • In the 70's Harry Wach was a gifted artist and made no mistakes, that odd jumping is purely digital . I recorded the album ' Harry Wach- Californian Here I Come' from a recently opened NOS Lp. Harry recorded this at Cardinal Video Sound Inc.287 Kenyon Street, Stratford Connecticut. The Thomas Californian 262 ( 1st w/ a Wah!).

Tried to get Harry's tone on my 263 Californian, but just can't get that biting edge. Close though. Did he use a tone cabinet, direct to board, or what?

    I've posted side 2.
