This skit was brilliantly done. It was shot in one take and there's absolutely no way to tell how they did it.

After seeing this when I was little, I was scared to open things for fear they would "cerrado" on their own.

Why not just run the film backwards and make one for "abierto"? Two films for the price of one.
Incidentally, there are minor differences between this and the English Version (notwithstanding the language); there's different stuff under the sink.

That wouldn't be so bad. It could rearrange itself. And moving day would be easier; you could just order it into the truck!
Looks like someone at the Amityville house left everything open. The demons were just being considerate.

Maybe the folks didn't make the payments for their furniture, and it was repossessed.
