hi, I haven't ever owned a dog and was wondering if a Rottweiler would make a
good first dog, are they really that bad, I understand that they can be dominant but
I wil show my dominance when its a puppy...I really want one but haven't owned a dog before....my question is can I keep a Rottweiler as a first time dog??
@ladyluck61b problems? if you mean, having two together, no real issues, when the male was about 1 year old he stopped taking hassles from the female who is 2 months older, and proved his dominance, was never going to be a 'real' fight but he used to be pushed around by the female untill he got testosternone, still gets pushed around by the female (lol, like humans!) but when comes to push vs shove ie food time etc he definately wears the pants lol;

i thought i had the most handsome looking rotti in the world.
now i see yours and i see i have the second most handsome rotti in the world lol.
he looks exactly like yours in these photos when hes a puppy, except imagine mine with a more puppyish looking face, not smaller but just more puppyish if you know what i mean.
very good with other dogs, socialised at dog parks at early age, males go through dominant period around 18 months to 2 years and need good training/ handling, unfortunately though you cant train other peoples dogs, and rottweilers get blamed often because of size, so always be aware of other pubescent males, female rottweilers (have had 2) are very easy to train and dont seem to have the territorial ambitions of the males;
@filoprince... i think you will find that half the photoes in this video are when we first got him and taken when 11 weeks old... all the photoes are not at the same age... ps at 4 months he was 22kg at 5 months around 27kg.. at 19 months now 54 kg... and if he is bigger than shaq he will be massive.... in his first competition at 5 months old he won best in show for working dogs... i really dont care that much about size but get concerned when the only thing people comment on is the size...
@filoprince ..... would be good to see some pictures of your giant....lol... shaqs 52kg (115lbs) now and 18 months old... will put some more pictures up soon....
