She was so beautiful, but sadly lost to cancer. God bless her. Pakistan not in many good books nowadays for the sad reasons but lots of fun during the 1980's. Nazia was one of the symbols of my youth. Pakistan produces a lot of good music. Pakistani musicians have more skill and depth then the Indians, though India not bad really.

What a great voice quality this mallika-e-huns Nazia got, you say her queen of pop but to me she is no less than a goddess. No doubt that true legends like her stay forever but I think god was not so kind to me to give an opportunity to see her performing live. May her great soul rest in peace forever.
And another thing, when Biddu composed the song, "Made In India" he wanted Nazia Hassan to sing it but Nazia Hassan refused to sing that song because she said she is Pakistani and not indian. She was a very patriotic Pakistani.

@2011shiningstar Her career started in Pakistan in the early 1970's when she used to sing for a children television show in Pakistan Television, then she moved to London, UK with her family for studies, there she recorded her song Aap Jaisa Koi. Almost all her albums and songs were recorded in London, UK. Her last album was recorded in Pakistan. None of her songs/albums were recorded in India. She only went to India for few times for concerts then returned to her home in Pakistan and London, UK.

I'm from India. This song is associated with my earliest childhood memories. Now thirty years later I rediscovered it and have been listening to it along with her other songs for the past 24 hours. This morning I thought: Wow! I'd love to see her in person. What if she still occasionally does a concert. I even dreamed of winning a chance to have her home for tea. So I Googled her name. Ten minutes ago my heart sank finding out she died in 2000 at the young age of 35!

I climbed machu pichu in peru recently and met lot of peruvians who like hindi music. It is only fitting that they would love Nazia. She is one of the greatest hindi singers.

The people posting in the "strange" language appear to be from Peru. And the "strange" language is spanish. If you use an online translation tool, you'll see that these strange people have some great things to say about Nazia. Apparently Nazia won their hearts as much as hours.

What a great voice quality this mallika-e-huns Nazia got, you say her queen of pop but to me she is no less than a goddess. And another thing, when Biddu composed the song, "Made In India" he wanted Nazia Hassan to sing it but Nazia Hassan refused to sing that song because she said she is Pakistani and not indian. She was a very patriotic Pakistani.

@agentnikoli82 Uncle Feroz Khan came to her and her family and begged her to sing in an indian film, and then Biddu, a British Indian music director, saw the success of her first song Aap Jaisa Koi, then begged her to do an album with him, but in all her albums it was always Nazia and Zoheb Hassan never Nazia and Biddu. There was not even a picture of Biddu in any of her albums or any sight of Biddu in her music videos. It was always the Pakistani brother-sister senation Nazia and Zoheb Hassan.

@2011shiningstar Her career started in Pakistan in the early 1970's when she used to sing for a children television show in Pakistan Television, then she moved to London, UK with her family for studies, there she recorded her song Aap Jaisa Koi. Almost all her albums and songs were recorded in London, UK. Her last album was recorded in Pakistan. None of her songs/albums were recorded in India. She only went to India for few times for concerts then returned to her home in Pakistan and London, UK.
