You should get the book "Bridal Bargains" by Denise and Alan Fields. It is a great book that is full of tips to save a ton of money on your wedding! Congrats!

another tip ... if you're not comfortable with one of the vendors its not worth it. work with someone NICE and helpful and genuine -- it'll show! even when its when choosing your cake and flowers etc. also things might not turn out perfectly (our florists forgot to put flowers on our cake and used birds of paradise on our center pieces instead of another pink type of flower!) but i called him and he came and fixed the cake -- and the centerpieces everyone loved -- very original and pretty!!

hey girl! congrats! i got married a couple months ago and went to hawaii for my honeymoon it was beautiful! some tips for wedding stuff: dont wait until last minute!! i stayed up until 6 am working on place cards and at the same time i was working on my masters degree and working two jobs! i was stressed out!!!!!!!! so try not to stress so much and have so much fun doing everything!

also make sure you just ask people for recommendations on where to buy things and vendors!

I just got married in October. My advice is just to enjoy it and soak it all in. It's such an awesome experience/day. Have so much fun with every little detail and try not to stress :) Congrats again!

I wish I had done more research almost 9 years ago when I got married!! I would say definitely don't commit to anything unless you are absolutely in LOVE with it. And don't do business with friends or family, it could end up biting you in the butt like it did me. Also, flowers are HUGE part of the budget because they can get very expensive.I wanted to be a wedding planner awhile ago and took some online classes...there are so many little things people don't think about when planning a wedding.

My only advice for you is the advice I wish I would have listened to more. Do what YOU guys want to do. If that means a completely traditional wedding do it. If it is a wedding with rainbow unicorns for decorations do it! Whatever makes you happy. Otherwise, you'll end up with somebody else's wedding. You can't make everyone happy but you can make yourselves happy!
