A friend of mine from WAY back had a copy of this on tape (he knew "somebody"), but I couldn't get a copy of it because neither of us had a dual cassette player (those were the days!). What really struck me about this is that during the a cappella chorus of the studio version they don't bring it back up to the original note, but this one is spot on! I didn't listen to it close enough then to tell that it's all Chris, tho. Gorgeous... I am so happy to have found this again! Thank youuuu!!
People, This song was written by Chris Cornell when he found out Andrew Wood died. He wrote this song on his europen tour, when he got back to the states he recorded this all himself in his home studio. Thats why his vocals are balls out crazy, its what he wanted.
@SandylovesGunner Temple of the Dog - Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Stone Gossard (Mother Love Bone and then Pearl Jam), Jeff Ament (Mother love Bone and then Pearl Jam), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden and later Pearl Jam) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)

did you know this song is an occult Shooting up song, back when the album came out smack was the seattle thing people would shoot to this song alot but note: still aware of its dangers
like the death of MOTHER LOVE BONES Lead SINGER, and was not chris's intent +5 from me
your fucking stupid. Andy Wood is Mother Love Bone not just the singer, and you're a fucking junky being that you're such a historian of heroin use. go fuck your self.
I have understood that this version was recorded a few years (2 o 3 years) previous to the album "Temple of the Dog". And it is possible to be heard by the type of voice of Chris Cornell, which obeys to the period of " Louder than love".
This is the best demo of the best cut on the Temple album. I like the acappella part at the beginning as opposed to the middle. Obvious why it was rearranged. The final has a great build up to the moment. But listen to this demo and Cornell's soulful high-note wails throughout the song... Fucking Cornell. Simply the best hard rock singer/songwriter ever
damn i love the harmony at the beginning the most...
