  • Nice video. I wan't to make a Brick Film but can't since I don't have a good camera. My camera can only record videos. Not take pictures. Well I hope I get one for Christmas.

  • Waterboys brother ?

  • is a cannon coolpix cam. ok 4 this stuff?

  • dude, your accent is EPIC

  • This probaly won't help since I use my Mac to animate.

  • You have the same digital camera as me, lol.

  • At below dude I'm 8 I'm pretty good animating myself.

  • Man I want to make video's but I am really young (12) and it seems very complicated and hard but I want to make them so bad!!

  • hey did stop motion animator whas whith cd or from the page cuz i csnt get it

  • You don't own bricksinmotion do you?

  • Do you recommend a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000?

  • My camera would work on this computer but i have a stupid built in webcam that im not using to animate.

  • Hahaha, watch with transcribe audio on. It has a hard time with his slur.

  • that helped me

  • do we need animation?

  • Yeah I agree big time.

  • I actually use the honestech claymation software for my lego movies. And I hook up my webcam to the computer and start taking pictures from the computer does that work

  • i have a Canon powershot A60

  • I got a 500 gig computer I dont have to worry about compressing

  • can i use a regular digital camera, take my pics then upload them onto moviemaker??

  • Ya you can

  • u can but it takes longer

  • yes

  • Like all the others said, yes you can. It just takes longer and you don't get the best results. I used that technique with my movie and it didn't come out very well.

  • it's better if you pt them into monkeyjam and then put in the avi file into moviemaker :D

  • where can i get monkeyjam?

  • just google monkey jam and take the first site.

  • google it then click the very first website

  • that is what i do

  • @lucasmproductions you can do that?!?!

  • Yes.

When you create a layer just set the folder to the folder where the pictures you want to use are stored.

Then just open that folder and import the pictures.

  • Oh but of course, why didn't I thought of that?

    Lol, thanks :D

  • Your welcome! :)

  • you do a really good job with this do u get payed for doing this or is it just for fun?

  • he gets paid

  • hey nathan could you possibly tell me how you built the stand thingy for your camera?

  • Can you hook up your camera to Frame-By-Frame?

  • so do u use a webcam or a camra???

  • I have a canon powershot a95 I have downloaded the trial version of Stop Motion Pro and it doesnt detect my camera. Do I need to install my software for the camera first?

  • Thanx so much! I say how you zoomed with the Quickcam and I have one for laptops and it works!

  • ive made a few lego animations but they could use work im makeing a new one right now its gunna be long

  • Thanks.

  • Thank you SOOO much!! We used to have that cannon camera, but it got stolen at disneyland. I use a $15.00 GE quickcam. it's fairly good, but does not capture color so well.

  • I used to use a GE webcam as well. I suggest trashing it as soon as possible and getting something a bit higher end. Believe me, you don't want to be using a GE webcam for brickfilming.

  • Thanks Nathan. I've taken a break from Brickfilming for a while and my studio is all messed up. I've watched all of your Bricks in Motion videos and they have all been helpful. I do have a request, though. Could you make a tutorial on making basic sets?

  • Approval!

  • lol not forget to turn on your camera or plug it in

  • Hmm, I used to use Canon PowerShot A530. Now I use Canon EOS 30D and that's really good.

  • Lots of help :D

  • what is the software that you show in this video? indianaJonesStudios

  • Stop Motion Pro

  • Nice job! I actually just purchased a new Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks. It works pretty good.

  • can you make a video were you show your whole city?

  • Hey Nathan, you might want to add annotation reccomending the QuickCam Pro 9000, it seems to be one of the best webcams for stop motion available.

Can't wait to the set building tutorial!

  • thanx dude!

  • I want to see how you organise your bricks ect, you know, where you store them

  • I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but stay tuned to a future Bricks in Motion video to see how my LEGO is stored!

  • @NathanWells

I know YOU'RE probably tired of hearing this, but when are the future episodes coming, for I will find the said episode extremely useful!

  • good tips.

  • I look foward to Set Building :D

    Ain't so great in that.

    -Darkman

  • First I have a question. How good is the quality of picture on the web cam you were showing there? Please reply!

Secondly I don't know about rendering it as avi. wmv with a image size of around 640x400 or something (DVD Quality) does fine for me. You get high quality from it on youtube.

  • For examples of the image quality of the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000, watch any of my brickfilms up until Driven.

As for the video format, WMV is fine it you're uploading it directly to YouTube, but otherwise saving a video in WMV is not ideal because it doesn't play well on all computers, and it still doesn't retain as much image quality.

  • Ok. I've heard it's pretty bad.

    That's what I do.

Yeah not really unless you put it up to higher resolution. I think WMV normally goes at 320x200 but I can put it up to 1440x1280 which is HD over youtube's HD level.

  • @NathanWells I have a Canon Powershot SX100 IS and I use it for stopmotion animation but I have a problem. The picture is ALWAYS blurry when I take a picture. i play around with the angle and zoom, etc. but the picture always comes out blurry. What should i do?

  • Cool, looking forward to the next one. My main problem right now is lighting, I hope you do some videos that only focus on lighting or other subjects.

  • I will be posting a tutorial on lighting this week. Tune in and subscribe to Tutorials4Brickfilms

To be sure to see it.

  • awesome tips.
