Nice video. I wan't to make a Brick Film but can't since I don't have a good camera. My camera can only record videos. Not take pictures. Well I hope I get one for Christmas.
I actually use the honestech claymation software for my lego movies. And I hook up my webcam to the computer and start taking pictures from the computer does that work
Like all the others said, yes you can. It just takes longer and you don't get the best results. I used that technique with my movie and it didn't come out very well.
I have a canon powershot a95 I have downloaded the trial version of Stop Motion Pro and it doesnt detect my camera. Do I need to install my software for the camera first?
Thank you SOOO much!! We used to have that cannon camera, but it got stolen at disneyland. I use a $15.00 GE quickcam. it's fairly good, but does not capture color so well.
I used to use a GE webcam as well. I suggest trashing it as soon as possible and getting something a bit higher end. Believe me, you don't want to be using a GE webcam for brickfilming.
Thanks Nathan. I've taken a break from Brickfilming for a while and my studio is all messed up. I've watched all of your Bricks in Motion videos and they have all been helpful. I do have a request, though. Could you make a tutorial on making basic sets?
First I have a question. How good is the quality of picture on the web cam you were showing there? Please reply!
Secondly I don't know about rendering it as avi. wmv with a image size of around 640x400 or something (DVD Quality) does fine for me. You get high quality from it on youtube.
For examples of the image quality of the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000, watch any of my brickfilms up until Driven.
As for the video format, WMV is fine it you're uploading it directly to YouTube, but otherwise saving a video in WMV is not ideal because it doesn't play well on all computers, and it still doesn't retain as much image quality.
Yeah not really unless you put it up to higher resolution. I think WMV normally goes at 320x200 but I can put it up to 1440x1280 which is HD over youtube's HD level.
@NathanWells I have a Canon Powershot SX100 IS and I use it for stopmotion animation but I have a problem. The picture is ALWAYS blurry when I take a picture. i play around with the angle and zoom, etc. but the picture always comes out blurry. What should i do?
Cool, looking forward to the next one. My main problem right now is lighting, I hope you do some videos that only focus on lighting or other subjects.

Yes.
When you create a layer just set the folder to the folder where the pictures you want to use are stored.
Then just open that folder and import the pictures.

Oh but of course, why didn't I thought of that?
