  • the best. perfect.

  • ive come to the conclusion that my new life motto will be....Nothing beats Perlmans.

  • @shecamealong I don't recall Tchaikovsky dedicating this piece to Steve Jobs.

  • Such Passion, one more time Maestro Perlman it's a proof of real music... without personnel note, only music and it's wonderfull

    Thank's !

  • I am new to classical and a novice when it comes to trying to interpret a composer in their music, but perhaps a new outside/in perspective couldn't hurt. Tchaikovsky is unlike Brahms, in that he brings a full spectrum of sound from the start in a very offensive and confident way, almost as if he is showing off with each piece. Brahms seems more emotionally exposed and fragile. I love both in their own ways.

  • ...no words

  • An incredible musician, and a wonderful human being!

  • im certainly tired of listening to moder music, with all those singers speaking bullshit and trowing out stupid judgements... this is relaxing and beautifull.

  • I'm still crying...

  • I wish I could like this a million times....

  • Simply perfect! This makes you feel warm, can't really put it better.

  • musica hermosa...

  • J'aime cette sérénade.Quel magnifique violoniste!

Il donne des ailes aux rêves...

    Merci beaucoup.

    Luz

  • Masterpiece!

  • Exquisite. I'm not sure the facial expressions help. Check Heifetz who was famous for his lack of them.

  • Perlman makes it seem so effortless

  • Majestuoso

  • i get to go see this piece preformed soon with my orchestra, cant wait! :D

  • ahhhhhhhh

  • Love this piece! Perfectly performed!

J´adore Perlman.

  • Esplêndido!

  • This is the best version I have heard of this piece. When I search on Itunes on this Perlman plays another excellent version of this - as does Menuhin and some other violin players.

But this one here is what I want!

Anyone who knows if it is for sale somehow?

  • @maxhansendk Get the YouTube downloader (free) download this as an mp4, and then use the downloader to convert it to an MP3. Then upload it to iTunes. And then you have it.

  • wow perfectly done!

  • thank you for uploading-great

  • This peice brings me to tears almost everytime I watch it! It's so bitter sweet! and Itzak is the PERFECT person to play it. It's so rich and dark! Possibly one of my all time favorite peices written for violin! LOVE IT

  • bravísimo!!!

  • I think you can tell from this that when John Williams writes for violin, he thinks of Tchaikovsky

    Merci

  • He plays with a Stradivarius!

  • if Perlman kept his pinkie on the bow, it would sound so much better plus he would have better control.

  • @smiah777

It's actually kind of refreshing to me that there exist trolls that have knowledge of proper bow handling.

  • heavenly beautiful )

  • I have seen Heifetz perform twice ..... when I was a young teenager. We sat about 20 feet from the stage. Heifetz was a tremendous "technician" ..... his playing was not emotional ... On the other hand, Oistrakh, Rabin and Stern displayed a lot of emotion.... both during live performances and that which was felt in their recordings.

  • In fact, it remains that this interpretation is one of the best, no doubt.

    Warmly thanks dzidkonia.

  • No other violinist conveys as much emotion as Perlman. It's a total pleasure listening to him play.

  • @Karen41872

I do not agree with you about emotion ; Rabin, Hassid, Oistrak, Heifetz and many others play with emotion too. You should say that "for you" no other violinist conveys as much emotion as Perlman, and then I can understand :-))

  • Perlman is the BEST

  • @nodrogordon

Perlman is one of the best but not the best ;-)

    jaja

  • btw, im so sick of haters flaming people who ask questions that someone would call "common knowledge" . Its like making someone else look stupid to make yourself look smarter.

there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you never asks them, then you wont learn very much will you?

You cant read a book on every damn subject, and know everything about everyone.

    have a nice day.

  • @Katta92 Amen to that! :D

  • this has to be the most beutiful sounds i have ever heard. and he is so emotional, it is like the music is coming from his very soul.

  • Brillinat player but a bit lazy ;)

He have been tstudyin those eches..overe theee.....

  • Itzhak Perlman's playing brings tears to my eyes. I hope someday to get the opportunity to have him perform one of my works.

  • So beautiful, yet sad

  • His face conveys the emotion, too

  • im simply not a fan of his use of vibrato...I personally think his interpretation of how it should be used is excessive... other that that very enjoyable to listen to thanks

  • It is a romantic era piece so that is to be expected I think. Their kind supposed to be excessive/ extremely emotional.

  • I really don't mean to be mean, but is it just me or is it from this angle his hands look like they are inflated?? excellent player though!

  • he has polio you ass.

  • well how am i supposed to know that huh?

  • common knowledge, read a book sometime.

  • I really don't mean to be mean, but thats the stupidest question I have ever read. :P

  • What do you mean by inflated? As far as I know from my readings, polio affected his lags and arms. He worked hard to rebulid the muscles. His paretns thought violin would help his recovery. And look how far he's gone.

  • hey, look, don't go biting my head off over something as little as a question WHICH i said was stupid. HENCE WHY I SAID THAT. can't a person ask a curios question without being attacked??

  • @CarpeDiem121892

sorry I was not attacking you. My bad if you don't feel comfortable with my comment. I really don't see his arms are "inflated." That's a real question. Anyway no need to argue at all. sorry again

  • Does anyone know who the orchestra and conductor are? The opening chords are quite out of tune. They get better later. Perlman of course plays beautifully.

  • Very emotional violinist. I love it!

  • do you know which conductor this is and which orchestra?

  • Can anyone send me the sheet music? =(!!!!

  • Does he play at Carnegie Hall?

  • great preformance!!!!

  • awesome technique look at his right hand movements

  • whoa...his hand is so huge....

  • Superb indeed :3 <3<3

  • beautiful

  • I wept. It's just so beautiful

  • it's so good i don't even have words for it!

    =)

  • superb

  • oh my God what a beautiful playing

  • @shkorpions Oh my God indeed!

  • i heart this.

  • GOD!!!

  • The top!!!!!!what a sound and intensity!

  • He is flawless.
