  • Tunesia is a magic place: Due to Dizzy's tune and due to the "Tunisreise" of the famous german expressionist painters before first world war.

  • sorry i ment I CAN'T!!!

  • hey guys!!! Dizzy said something important from 6:50 to 7:10 but i can hear it well can anyone write it??? Does anyone hear it?

  • @stoparapentevideo i might have missed a word here and there but this is what he said "And now we’d like to give you our version of a tune that has been very closely associated with me over many many decades, mainly because I wrote it, It has withstood the vicissitudes of the contingent world, and moved in an odyssey into the realm of the metaphysical, and may we offer at this time “A Night in Tonisia.”"

  • Shells!!!! (':

  • Can you imagine the first band meeting??

Guy 1: Hi, the names Joe, what are you doing to be playing for Dizzy?

Guy 2: Hey! Nice to meet you, the name is Mike, I play the Saxophone. You?

Guy 1: I play the conch shell.

    Guy 2: .... the what?

    Guy 1: The shell...

LMAO. I think that is amazing what he's doing with just shells!!

    Aka vagando de la vida...jeje

  • Yeah. A 72 year old cigar smoker. Considering that I say he is doing a good job!

  • Whos on piano.don't recognized him

  • @TONYRT925 Danilo Perez is playing piano on this album.

I met danilo last month, he was at my University as part of a festival for the Taubman Piano method. He is such a nice dude, and a wonderful teacher and clinician.

  • Godayyyum, he killed it with the shells!!!

  • 2:40 is a quote from manteca

  • i think they all suck cock!!!!!!!! Jk the only one really killing it is dizzy...... arthuro and Roditti are fantastic but im tired of hearing random squeaks from arthuro Roditti is much more lyrical but dizzy is the true master in exspression by far....... fantastic shell stuff

  • watch 3:48 - 3:57

  • esta increible este video esa crabron es una reataaa neta ovaciones y demas para el señor

  • shell jazz?

I guess this shows us why you can't let a trombonist get board

  • bored

  • It's easier to tune.

  • Airto's face at 3:48!

  • no me canso de ver estos videos son unos maestrasos

  • Incredible seashell playing, and I believe I saw the one and only Arturo Sandoval playing here too. This is AKA having the two best jazz trumpets of the time in one performance!!!

  • 3, you forgot Claudio Roditti. IMO he was/is better as a jazz musician cause he plays alot more lyrical than Sandoval, all 3 still phenominal.

  • different styles for sure...i wouldnt say hes more lyrical...arturos lines are so flavorful brotha! damn! woo .....smokin licks mane

  • Boat arriving to Hawai..lsd trippin...dizzy is a legend

  • Here it is!

    Phénoménal!

  • wow simplemente sorprendente

  • jajja muy pero muy bueno

    it's amazing

  • Love the sea shells. Giovanni Hidalgo was great as usual.

  • I beg your pardon! Dizzy Gillespie was the one who popularised this genre of jazz. He, in his older age, did end up having a weaker tone. I still think that he is brilliant!

  • Well... when you are 72, I'd like to see you do better.

  • If you are so called a "jazzer" then you'll know what Dizzy has done for all of us Jazzers everywhere.

And appreciate him, even if he doesn't sound nearly as strong as he did once.

  • Agreed, he is 72 in here, you can't blame the guy.

  • When Steve Turre was just coming up, playing clubs in Boston, I used to hear him do the sea shells when he had just gotten into it. It was amazing years ago and still is.

  • sea shells playing is creative but kind of weird. its very cool and unique tho

  • jajaja que padre está increíble

  • Those sea shells were amazing. I've never seen anything like that. Great stuff!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • WOW!!! NICE

  • Absolutely amazing! Steve Turre playing sea shells! And making them sound wonderful. This is great!!!!!
