guys not only does george kolias use triggers but he also explains in his DVD about how when you use triggers that it not only gives clarity, but it also takes a certain degree of more skill in your control and that if you dont use control that triggers are useless. control and consistantsy is the main thing that george kolias enfisizes on more than anything. just like he said HIMSELF that 300bpm is vertually impossable that even he can only hit 280 or so yet many will argue that fact as well.

accually if you are playing 280 bpm it doesnt matter if you have triggers or not your still playing at 280bpm. triggers DO NOT make you faster it only gives more volume and effects(or accents) to your drums but if not used properly then you will sound nice and clear at 280 bpm then sound like you are stomping the bass drum so hard that you've busted a whole in the drum on singles and it will distort out! bottom line is with or without triggers control is what REALLY makes all the difference.

@hlslayer123 Triggering means that you put a sensor to the drumhead and it will send a singal to a electronic drum module when you hit the drum. Then the module will produce a exactly same sound every time you hit the drum no matter how and how hard. So for example if you hit the bassdrum hard like normaly or not so hard when playing very fast it produces the same sound which you can choose. This is how I have understood it.

Someone somewhere back in the comments mentioned "iron wrists". No, it's not having iron wrists. It's called not fighting your kit, something a lot of drummers never get over and what brings most drummers to the next level once they achieve it. George has some of the softest hands I've ever seen in a drummer that plays at this speed and his kit doesn't play him, he plays his kit. Some understand this concept, some don't.

it actually is, at least at the start. Its actually closer to 49. However, at about :30 george starts playing 64th notes with his feet, which is equivalent to 16ths at 200 or so.
