  • Sick u got a frankestein sp1200 !! Still thats dope !! Nuthin like it ! A u from

    lA ?

  • i love the sp sound i must get one

  • That first beat.....Is WTF dope...

  • beautiful machine and the beat is ill

  • You better put that someplace safe 'cause you got a piece of history there!

  • Look my video !!! Sd card on sp1200

  • Whats the name of the beat at the begining of the video?

  • Yo I know you said it was a Prototype I don't dispute what you say but Rest in peace to my man Shawan G from Harlem had the EXACT same joint he started making beats in 1990 when he bought it from some cat who used to work at Power Play and 1212 studios The same one with those blue buttons . I still love the SP 1200

  • sick beat bro

  • WOOOOAHHHH! drums are stoooopid

  • Hey man! The sample in the beat were can i get it?

  • Like you say, a magnificient piece! So good that after this prototype it was regularly produced.

And the two beats in the Video are great, ruff SP-stuff!

For a ruff SP1200 beat in a different style you might want to check the video on my channel.

    Peace

  • omg i need an SP man! for real!!

  • you got that knock.....keep it on!

  • I also had one sampler prototype, but it was only the prototype of the Akai S-20, the "Remix 88"... also crunchy sound, but it needed a 10 volts custom power-supply...

  • brah I got to see this shit I'm in the Bay

  • gotta love the way the drums sound in the SP.dope

  • hey wdb2g, can you explain further your comment regarding the outputs... you mention " you can't run everything out of 7 & 8"... Can you explain what channels you ARE using and how you have the sp1200 connected to your mixer / turn table, etc? What channels do you use?

    Fantastic video...

  • what mixer do you have? im planning on buying the sp 1200 but I dont know what mixer I should get I know it needs at least 8 channels, but im also planning to hookup a turntable to it, what do you think I should get?

  • @Cygnus224 you can use the mackie 1202 the round knobs or sliders, or you can just use a 2-channel mixer, either is cool. peace!

  • That beat is Raw,.

  • You need a DJ mixer to go between your turntable and the SP to sample. You also need a technics or similar turntable as well and be sampling from your records. An SP isn't ideal for use with a modern computer if that's where all your sounds are and you're better off with a new roland or akai beat machine.

If you want to get close to the true classic sound then you need the SP or MPC60/3000 and to have some records, ain't nothing like them available new these days.

  • do i need a dj mixer for use the machine ?

  • @westcoastneverdie no but if you want to do sampling it might be easier to have one.

  • peace... this goes to the cat that is in this video... would you guys like to be a part of the official SP-1200 book, authorized by E-Mu systems, Inc? This would be a dope little story to include in the book... please hit me up... ++ DRUMAT!C

  • I love the sound that comes out of the prototype!! I try to make the MASCHINE sound close to it.

  • those drums bounceeee reminds me of Bitch Please II

  • how do you know you didnt just buy a sp1200 with blue buttons?

    epr sells those buttons still.

  • why don't you wannabe hiphop bozo's get off that graveyard-shift sounding bells and pianos and stuff. shit makes me sleepy and it sounds like babyshit.

  • @LemonAndYoghurt it's suposed to make you fill sleepy, everyday isnt a rave outside eastern europe.....we like to smoke weed and think about shit.... not take extacy and talk shit

  • @militaryminded85 down to a science my g, word for word. yall follow that

  • Yo get at us if you want your photos in the OFFICIAL SP1200 book -- authorized by EMU systems. hit me up in a private message and i'll get your info.

Does E-Mu even repair their old hardware anymore? I figured they abandoned servicing them at this point.

  • yo that eps rack is dope!! i aint even going speak on the sp..thats some RARE SHIT homie..for real. dope. so that was the prototype..the same with just blue buttons it seem. IMO the reissues were better looking than the og units. MUCH RESPECT. loop.

  • I'm feelin the BOUNCE in yo beat dawggie, I love the "hiccup" feel in them drums. Big Ups!

  • I took it to emu to get repaired and they, wanted to keep it because it was their property, till I told them the name of the guy whose estate it was from, who used to work there then they told me what it was.

  • haha thats funny that they wanted to keep it. Did they look at you suspisciously since no one was supposed to have this? Peep my vids let me know what you think man peace
