Differences in calibration of the displays. When viewed with an accurately calibrated monitor, the correct color is a dark purple.

Crypton Future Media was the ones who created Miku and Illustrator KEI did her illustrations and designs. Thought your half right about BRS being "Miku based". At first BRS looked totally different then she does now. but when Huke joined Ryo's Supercell, he made BRS look more like Miku for the song entitled BLACK ROCK SHOOTER, that Ryo created. so saying shes "Miku based" isn't far from the truth.

She has nothing to do with Miku or any of the vocaloids,except that Miku sings the opening of the anime :D

Not it is not Hatsune Miku. The character is called "Black Rock Shooter." Miku was just the instrument they used for the lyrics in this particular case. The group, called "Supercell" has released an album and has since released singles without using Miku. There is no real correlation between the two characters, Miku just happens to sing the song. The fact that they might look familiar is coincidence, BRS-chan is an original concept by an independent artist named "Huke," whose artwork is great.

There is going to be an update to Miku. I just call it Miku 1.5 for now. If you listen to the animation from the pilot DVD, you can defiantly hear the difference between the original and 1.5, which is what is used for said DVD.
