  • just got mine in yesterday and all i can say is WOW....great stock.worth the wait...now to put a swivel stuf and bipod

  • Love the look of this stock I'm building up a custom 10/22 and I'm getting this stock in the applejack color, red heavy barrel and receiver, trigger, and trigger guard. I may even add some Target grip checkering to the pistol grip. Can't wait. Keep up the good work and great prices!

  • Nice stock, but I hate the look of free floated stocks...I like the Yukon Extreme.

  • Is there a way to order this stock with swivel studs attached or is that a DIY project.

  • @Deadshockz We sell the studs, but they aren't installed on the SS Evolution. However, guys do it all the time.

  • @boydsgunstocks this is a dumb question but do you have a specific way that you would suggest putting swivel studs on the ss evolution? ive bought one from you for my 10/22 and would like to be able to put my bipod on it but it requires the studs.

  • @1LonePuma comment about breakage? That's why you handle firearms with an uncanny amount of care, less people tend to get hurt or killed that way. So you break the stock if you drop it, big deal it's $100 not life threatening. Unless you walk around with a round in the chamber, then your just a moron. I got 1 sitting under my Xmas tree...anxious. I always loved my 10/22 but this will hopefully get me to stop shooting my expensive rifles and just have some cheap fun again.

  • I am thinking about buying a savage mkii FV and I was wondering which stock would be more accurate for NONE BENCHREST shooting. the ss evolution or the ross RVT thumbhole stock. is either more accurate?

  • @Deadshockz They both get great reviews.

  • I just bought a SS Evolution for a 10/22 today-----Merry Christmas to me!!!!

  • @sass32357 Yay!

  • Do you make a tacticool stock for Marlin795... i saw a picture of one on the Calguns site under Marlin Gallery... it had a Boyds link to it also but I could find the stock on your website...

  • @cumafa That may have been a special run. We don't have the Tacticool now, but there are 4 other designs to choose from.

  • Our biggest concern is the lack of material in front of the saddle, it's thickness is extremely thin and could break, which is not conducive to rugged use. If one accidentally dropped the rifle, it just might break in half, which is not unrealistic as I've heard it can and does happen. Maybe if they had a full proof guarantee of never breaking, it might be considered?

    Best regards

  • I'm buying mine sooooon

  • @rray420er Sounds good! Most of the colors are available.

  • got one for the 10/22,, very happy with it, being a left hand shooter works great and if need to sell i can easily since right hand shooters can use the same stock.

  • @thepushercg Thank you for your business!!

  • Do you know if it would fit a marlin 795 by chance? Thanks a bunch

  • @Fisherguy28 YES! go to boydsgunstocks website and click on Marlin on the left nav menu then click the SS Evolution. The Marlin Model 60 & 795 work in this stock. Model 795 will require fitting of trigger guard area and fitting for magazine cut-out.

Due to the variations of model 60 and 795 receivers minor fitting of the receiver and or trigger guard maybe needed. Hopoe this helps.

  • the color kills it for me. if it came in black maybe. also it would be great stock for new shooters.

  • Finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.

  • Is it possible to install sling mounts on this stock without damaging it? I couldn't find any info on the matter anywhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @ShootinItStr8 Shouldn't be a problem. Make sure to find center on the forend. On the rear, your only concern would be hitting the screw from the recoil pad.

  • your stocks are beautiful..i plan on ordering one very soon!!!

  • I've had this stock for just over a year now. I LOVE this stock, super comfy and I noticed a considerable improvement in my offhand shooting. My only suggestion would be to include sling mounts pre installed. (Not that its difficult installing them yourself, but it would be cool to have)

    Thanks for a great product!

  • Im lookin to get one if these in the next month. Ive seen these on utube with a bipod mount. Is it hard to drill for that? The material i mean. Btw what barrel is that

  • @mzondi1970 Just make sure to find center on the forend of the stock.

  • @mzondi1970 Easy to do I did it, find center use a drill stop so you dont drill too deep and drill it smaller than the bi pod mount screw then just screw in your mount, AWESOME stock taboot these are perfect.

  • Awesome stock, I have a Savage 93R17 with a left-hand bolt, can I get a stock to suit?

  • @omfgworkdammit Sorry, we don't make it for the left hand bolt just yet. Keep checking back:)

  • did you do that paint

  • @ReignenPage No, the birch laminate is died and then pressed together. We order the color combos you see on the website. This stock just has a clear Polyurethane coat.

  • Is it possible to get this with a thumb hole for the savage mk 2?

  • @redtail5 Yes, go to Boyds website and search: SS EVOLUTION SAVAGE 93 E/MKII UNIVERSAL BARREL CHANNEL. Lots to choose from. Or call sales at 605-996-5011. Good Luck!

  • none have thumb holes as far as i can see

  • Do these fit remington 597?

  • @silentechoes314 Yes we make the SS Evolution for the 597. I can't insert links in my reply so just go to boydsgunstocks and search Remington 597 to see what is available. Thanks for your interest!

  • Could you do these in woodland camouflage? I'm going hunting next month and this looks absolutely amazing.

  • @SeamusPlox @SeamusPlox I'm not sure what woodland camo looks like. Go to our site to see all the colors we do offer: boydsgunstocks

    Thanks for your interest!

  • I see that these stocks are now available for Marlins. 60/795. I see on the website, that it is the same stock. There is no place to designate 60/795, so does that mean the finished stock will have to be channeled for the ammo tube of the 60?

  • @lllChokelll Yes, Model 60s will require ramrod cut to be put in stock. Model 795 will require fitting of trigger guard area and fitting for magazine cut-out. Hope this helps.

  • @lllChokelll Yes, Model 60s will require ramrod cut to be put in stock. Model 795 will require fitting of trigger guard area and fitting for magazine cut-out. Hope this helps.

  • @boydsgunstocks Hmm...darn. That's too bad. Thanks for the quick reply though!

    Have a good one!

  • is it comfortable to shoot off hand because alot of people put there hand between where the stock comes up like like under the mag and idk if that is comfortable and if you can put your hand farther out like you and if that would affect accuracy

  • @250trailmaster The SS Evolution is a purely functional stock. The grip angle allows the hand to assume the most natural position, and the palm swell on either side provides the most comfortable grip possible. We sell thousands of these. Customers love this stock:)

  • wish u had one for the savage mark II

  • @GoldenStateAirsoft I think we can help if you are referring to the Savage 93/MKII. Go to our website and search SS Evolution you'll see it is made for the Ruger 10/22 and the Savage 93/MKII. Good Luck!

  • will you ever make the Evolution stock available for the Mark II Savage left hand action.?

  • @pcwaust Maybe down the road. Currently we offer the Left hand stock with Right hand action. Please take a moment to fill our Product Request Form on the upper left of your website. Thanks!

  • will you ever make the Evolution stock avaialble for the Mark II Savage left hand action.?

  • @pcwaust Please take a few minutes and fill out our Product Request form. This is how we determine what stocks and inlets to offer next. New items are releasd every week.

  • I like this stock. Im in the market right now. I know on the older rugers..like mine...i heard the barrels are a bit narrower then the newer stuff have u found that to be the case? Ive had mine almost 20 years with no mods beleive it or not. I think its time. Also how does this work with open sights i dont like a scope all that much on the 22. Thank you in advance

  • @mzondi1970 The SS Evolution Stock is fully free floated to accodate either the standard factory barrel or the .920 bull barrel. Your gun will fit just fine. Open sights should be no issue. Good luck :D

  • @boydsgunstocks you have the best looking stocks ive seen the only reason why i havent bought one is the colors sure the sky and pepper looks cool but will you ever sell a red one or black and white one?

  • @boydsgunstocks How about doing an Evolution stock for a Savage 93 / Mark II left hand action.

would really like to buy one but you only make it for the right hand action.

  • Thanks for the reply.. I'm looking forward to buying one very soon. Can't wait

  • Just bought a 10 22 ruger and really want one of these. I seen some where there was a yellow one but can't find it on your site. Was it a limited time thing?

Also I'm no gun expert and never really changed a stock before will I be able to do this one? Thanks 5/5 stars

  • @1GATORFAN4LIFE Yes, the yellow one was a limited produciton item; sorry you missed it. But feel confident, you will be able to change out the stock, you only need to remove one screw. Good luck, hope you find a color you like:)

  • I put SS Evolution stock in blue on my 10/22 and I love it. I also added a Harris bi-pod up front a Hornet trigger group (2.5-8 lb pull) and a 6x9x40 scope with a picatinny rail mount. I took the sling mounts off of the stock 10/22 and put them on the Boyds stock. I put Ruger Polished Target Bolt and charge handle in the receiver and I'm almost done (my wallet is...lol) Last will be a .920 barrel in SS fluted 18". I'll have the most expensive toy tack driver but it's so much fun that it's OK.

  • @sandrifter We're so glad you're happy with your build. You should submit a picture when it's done:)

  • I just bought that same stock with the forest camo color. I also bought a olive green tactical solutions bull barrel, two butler creek 25rd steel lip mags., and a olive green tactical solutions mag release extension.

  • 1:12 what is that for

  • ya its a beauty i have one on my 597 tvp. great feel and I love it with the heavy bull barrel.

  • I have this stock in blue for my 10/22 and LOVE it. Being a lefty, this is one of the very few thumbhole stocks I can use. My Ruger is totally tricked out (bull barrel and all) and this stock makes it simply wonderful. Extreme comfort, maximum fit, lightweight and beauty that gets looks everywhere I go. Anyone who wants a good stock that can complete your Ruger customization should strongly consider this one.

  • great job on this advertisement. very informative in my opinion, as a gun enthusiast myself. good shit

  • can i convert a ruger charger to your stock?

  • @whtlion You can convert a charger but you have to do atf paperwork (nfa class 3), it is a short barreled rifle because your charger has a 10" barrel. $200 tax stamp too for uncle sam, I did one its real neat.

  • will a stock ruger 10 22 barrel fit a 0.920 bull barrel chanel? so it will be free floated.

  • @RockinMissZ it will fit

  • @RockinMissZ

I have such a stock with a .920 carbon fibre barrel and yes, it is free floating.

  • I have a Remington 597Yellow Jacket that came factory with one of these stocks. Love the stock fit and feel.

  • i saw one of them awhile back and fell in love with it. i have a 597 with a bull barrel and a 597 with heave barrel. im looking for an evolution stock for mine as we speak lol

  • awsome stock i own one myself!!! looks pretty too
