When he uses the corpse as a puppet that adds to the song, I laugh hysterically every time. This song is dark and gritty just like the nature of the story and is highly underrated and for some reason very short, it could have been extended with more graphic and disturbing lyrics and visuals. It shows that Nathan's only connection with the outside world is by tearing their insides out to protect his daughter from the truth about what he believes he did to his one true love and her mother, agony.

I always took the "Keep Shilo safe" as Nathan/the Repo Man talking to the other one. They both care about Shilo and they don't want her to get hurt. Nathan's telling the Repo Man to A) Protect Shilo and B) Not hurt her WHILE protecting her.

So it basically can be interpreted the same way that this is Nathans aching hour (or the victims)

That's a very gray area, but I would have to say, typically, no, but only because of the way his personality seems to have split. His nurturing side is mainly Nathan, whereas his violent side is Repo. Which is why, at that one point in the movie, he's Nathan when he says "Keep Rotti safe" but switches to Repo when he says "Make Rotti pay".

Of course, near the end he says "Touch her and I swear I'll kill you," because by then his two personalities have become less definite and more blended.

Oh, he undoubtedly has a split personality. He's spent so much time as these two completely different people that, after 17 years of it, it's manifested itself into two clearly different personalities. And that scares him. You can really see it in "Night Surgeon"...and my favorite is when he says in his creepy, growly voice "So Rotti thinks he can take Shilo..." and then Shilo wakes up and he says "Nothing, Shilo, nothing, go to bed..." all sothingly... It's one of my favorite parts of the film.
