To me that was the one inherent flaw with Bullseye, one player could answer a whole slew of questions, but lose on just 1 wrong answer, but I guess since both players play under the same rules, that's just the way it goes :-\ This is why I always preferred Tic Tac Dough, it took at least 3 right answers to win a game, and much more strategy involved.
I think I can tell where the location of the lightning is....watch the swirls....one of them is spinning slower than the other two and that's the location of the lightning!
@emlsox4life I can't seem to notice a difference in speed, but maybe that's just me. You might need to look at a few other playings just to confirm the theory, though.
@Hondo20132 Hmm...try the Celebrity Bullseye episode with Ernest Borgnine on it,the bottom swirl was spinning slower than the top 2 swirls and afterwards lightning was in the bottom window but as Bullseyes get frozen,you can't tell anymore.

@storrs19 I've seen that particular episode. The contestant only relaized he was safe after his 10th spin. One question though: wasn't another stipulation that if the player managed to hit 3 Bullseyes in a single spin, they were awarded $10,000? Was is ever done?
Now THIS should be a game show GSN should give some serious thought to re-airing. If done properly (if they could get Barry & Enright Productions' permission), they could even make it an interactive game both on live TV & their website, where the player goes for "Oodles", instead of money.
For some occasions, the period time of 1980-1983, "Tic Tac Dough" starring Wink Martindale is or was the third game show to have an episode end FROM TIME TO TIME DURING a bonus game.
I guess you could reasonably figure that after so many spins without seeing the lightning that it was behind the window with the bullseye that you froze so you could just spin for eternity.

@Tubewings - I think the CBS Daytime edition of Match Game sporadically had this happen. They would finish the Audience Match and then run short on time to begin the Head-to-Head Match portion.
And/or perhaps the short-lived B-E show Play the Percentages might have happened as well. Probably the same with "Bumper Stumpers" as well.
why do the USA nick all the ideas of TV shows from the UK.
UK had, name that tune. USA nicked it.
