The conductor is Avip Priatna. The choir is BMS / Batavia Madrigal Singers. Search for their videos here in youtube, they will not do Playback, as they are one of the most respected choirs in Asia maybe in the world. :)
This a wonderful performance of this work. The orchestra plays with balance a percision and the choir has a wonderful warm tone, great diction and they sing with great joy. Great job! I would love to see more of your work.
Super carol . Takes me back to when I was 5, and my dad used to tape the Carols from cambridge on an old reel-to reel tape. I hear this, and once again I am 5 years old with my first tricycle under the christmas tree.
I used to be allowed to stay up and watch BBC 1 Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and my mother found this less like Christmas. I sort of agreed when I was aged 10 -12 when I first heard it from the smiley mouths when oh Little Town of Bethlehem (slow solemn version) was the favourite. Now I love this! And it shas prog rock vibes too.

I posted this on the "I say "Merry Christmas", not "Happy Holidays"!!" Facebook group. It's definitely the best version of the song on YouTube. What I like is the rolling pace throughout plus the staccato jumps between words in the chorus.

@musicus73: Also thought it was the music of the Rutter-CD, but I agree with @Benwrex

This is definetively PLAYBACK! Copy of a recording from a Rutter-CD!

@musicus73 It's not this choir shortens the notes for -hem (Bethlehem) more than in the sheet notes, and the Rutter recording.

I agree. The best interpretation of "Shepherd's Pipe Carol" I've ever heard.
