  • Hey jus got the T3 can you guys tell me what is the best and affordable lens for hd video. i will be using it mostly for video.

  • @infamoussouth The kit lens in my opinion is actually a very decent lens. If you're looking for a better lens, then I suggest you go to several stores that sell lenses to check out as many as you can. This will give you knowledge when it comes to buying a new lens. There are many different lenses out there, and it really depends on what kind of video you will be taking (example: close up, far away, people, nature, etc).

  • hey i really need help. i just got this camera today and im soooo clueless! lol. the images/video is blurry and the closer i get to something the blurrier it gets

  • @omgitsvictoriaxD You have to adjust the focus on the camera as you change the distance between what you are trying to capture, and the the camera itself. If you want automatic focus, there is a switch on the lens that makes the lens focus automatically on an object when you press the shutter down half way.

  • how do you focus on video mode?

  • @MonicaPhuongLy You can use the focus ring on the lens as you do to focus on an object when taking a picture. Or, you can set it to auto-focus where the lens will focus by itself.

  • wow, this is fantastic. im thinking about getting this camera and i was worried that the standard kit lens would be shit. but im pleasantly suprised. :)

  • can you lock the exposure while filming?

  • @Mandeologul I'm 90% sure you can. I'll get back to you on that one later on today.

  • i'm new with the SLR cameras, ive seen videos where used zoom, how this posible with the kit lenss? in the image mode you can do that too?

  • @murdemo It's all within the optics of the lens. You can adjust the zoom by rotating a piece on the lens, which you can do throughout any mode (video, image, etc.). However, you have to keep in mind that not every lens has the same zoom. This kit lens (18-55mm) has an optical zoom of about 3 times. A telephoto lens would give you much more zoom and therefore more options when it comes to taking pictures or video. Keep in mind that you can also change lenses at any time (right size is necessary).

  • @jurj1 thank you very much :)

  • @jurj1 hey is there a focus ring on the kit lens???

  • @Giants544 Yes, there is. It can be used both during photo and video mode.

  • @jurj1 hey i don#t wanna bother you but do you think I should buy this camera with 2 lenses or the Nikon D3100 with just the kit?

  • Why can't I record for longer then like max 10 sec with my 1100D? Have a 1gb memory card in it so its not the mem space... its just says recording auto stopped?

  • @slipsystemdown Oh got it, just need a faster SD card :)

  • @slipsystemdown This problem has to do with the SD card. I use a 16GB class 4 SDHC card, and still get the same problem when recording in certain conditions. I suggest you get a card with a higher memory and a higher class. I would say at least class 6, which transfers at a rate of 6MB per second. You also have to keep in mind that DSLR's use a lot of memory, therefore the more memory available on the card the better.

  • Which one would you recommend: this, or the Nikon D3100? I love both! But, I am confused:):(

  • @BubbleProductions11 The D3100 offers full HD video (1080p) which can be useful if you work more with video, but then again some still prefer to record in 720p simply because it's a smaller file size and it's still HD (at least right now). The D3100 has more options to work with I would say, but the 1100D has more than enough to get you started. You can still get as much done with the 1100D as you can with D3100 if you know what you're doing. I say it's really up to you.

  • Amazing.

  • How come your video looks so nice and others looks so crappy?

  • @Babykay1985

*other vodeos of the same camera

  • @Babykay1985 *videos

  • @Babykay1985 It may be the lighting. I shot this right beside a window with lots of natural light coming through, which resulted in a smooth image. If it's dark, the image/video will be grainy.

  • @Babykay1985 well i think a lot of it has to do with the lens. Every video i've seen that was recorded with a 50mm lens or 18-135mm has looked nice...18-55...is still questionable..maybe it depends on how you render the video? But if you're thinking about buying this especially if u cant afford the t2i/3i like me...I would grab one of those lenses with it to keep up the good quality.

  • @SJVEChannel Thanks for the tip :).
