  • Should I relocate here from southern CA? I'm seriously considering it.

  • FACT: Knoxville, TN is the capital of Paris, France.

  • Yeah Knoxville...Im here right now...but its Small compared to most ciites but I LUV The Scenerny..Greta Place To Visit and Turkey Creek is for your Shopping needs or West Town mall...Anyone like me who lives here right now, know this Place is Awsome!!!

  • *Urban Skillz 865* Check him out ASAP!!! on youtube ...Oh And I luv my Town 865!!!!!!

  • Great pictures, music and video

  • this music makes me wanna hate TN.......

  • @supposedcp Why?

  • @supposedcp You can thank your friends at YouTube for the music. They replaced my original music.

  • Thinking of moving right outside of Knoxville... looks nice!

  • when God took a shit

    he named it knoxville

  • I live in Knoxville!!! ^_^

  • ut likes to lose to alabama every single year.

  • im in knoxville

  • nice sites but I feel like its just the same street and buildings shot from different angles; as if there were only 3 streets to Knoxville. I'm hoping to relocate somewhere down south and I was hopping for a look at more than one building and the same street...

Thanks for sharing the video tho'

  • I absolutely can't believe the negative comments Knoxville has gotten on this page. The city is renovating itself and is a great place to live. The downtown streets and alleys are immaculate. There are tons of festivals and fun things to do for families. No need to worry about muggings or anything like that. It's in a beautiful setting. Housing is inexpensive. Wages are decent. People are moving here especially from FL, Ohio & Pennsylvania constantly. Negative comments must be from UT dropouts!

  • Knoxville is close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and the Smokey Mountains. Great outdoor city and right in the Tennessee river?

  • This has got to be a joke there is nothing in knoxville EXECPT UTK and it sucks.

  • Buildings do not make a city and thats all I see here. I hope there is more to this city than what is shown here.

  • @Bmants there r only building in which hobos live here

  • @Bmants No there is nothing here and it will really be that way in a few more years because knoxville is way behind the rest of the country in everything but college football.

  • 865 Till I die Evereyone CHECK OUT URBAN SKILLZ

  • Knoxville is so boring. It's like one giant strip mall - called Kingston Pike.

I suppose it is a great place if all you want is football, basketball, and churches everywhere you turn. But if you are looking for culture, for art, for music or for diversity then you will need to look elsewhere. What little diversity Ktowne does have comes from UTK. The most international place in town is the Indian restaurant Sitar (which is quite good, but small and limited).

    Give me Seattle any day.

  • @SororThothma Mane Knoxville is boring thoe i agin"t gon front but it"s home and it will be for ever. and your right about music thing.lol

  • Beautiful city. I can't wait to move there in August!

  • @sacricolist I feel sorry for you many towns smaller than knoxville are much better.knoxville is known as the homeless capital of the U.S.. No kidding and as soon as nano tech hits the solar market TVA is gone. Are you homeless by chance.

  • @sacricolist @sacricolist Man, the actual city is so small in comparison to others. Knoxville is just spread out thats the only reason it considered a big city. When the actual down town area is like 4 block radius. Speaking as a Musician it SUCKS! If you want to play to more than 100 people at a time you have to stay on the rd. constantly.

  • awsome so we might be related.william was i think my great great great great great pawpaw

  • Knoxvegas baby!!...i cant believe i was just there 2 months ago..but now im back in my humble abode and comfortable surroundings of Bowling Green, Ky...but they should cross gay st bridge and show where ppl live in south and east knoxville...

  • I miss this city soooo much, thanks for the virtual tour!

  • My family settled in Knoxville in the early 1800's

  • u still here?

  • Wishful thinking on your part?

  • How would you know?

  • Impossible to go live anywhere in any state&not have to deal drugs&shootings&homeless ppl & hoes&etc. Its callled LIFE WELCOME TO IT

  • You're right.

  • I live in Knoxville,Tnwith my husband who is a MP(Military Police)Officer&I have lived here my whole life&yes it is a beautiful place 2 live this is my home but yea so wat if there is homeless ppl here theres homeless ppl everywhere in every state i have traveled i know&as for some of u saying theres whores here yea those are everywhere too.&drugs there everywhere too in every state Knoxville is a great place to live it just has its ups&downs just like everywhere else its almost

  • This would be a lot more appealing if the photos were taken in Spring or Fall. Knoxville is a beautiful city.

  • My home. I miss it.

  • Of course downtown is nice, but the truth is that outside of those boundaries there are tons of homeless and loads of crack house slums. just like any city.

  • Very gooooooood

  • Mr Wowme - for all we Knoxvillians care, you can stay in Nashville. I believe your IQ is showing because your language is certainly not that of an educated person! I'm not in Knoxville right now, but surely wish I was. Much slower and quieter way of life.

  • 1. The WORLD and all it's cities, has homeless and jobless people; is simply the facts of modern life.

    2. Instead of cussing you tend to appear more educated if you tried to support your reasoning like a cultured man.

    3. I dare you to go open up a business in Nashville and when a valued customer comes in to support YOUR business and tells you she's from Knoxville to tell her "F*youB*". I would like you to reconsider exactly WHY you are unsuccessful.

  • what now,no one liked it when i said F u B. what about when stormygal told me to shut up when i just criticized k-town and it was legitimate. it shows what u guyz r about when u only talk about gud parts and leave no part for any criticism.

  • @Auyra thankyou u really opened up my eyes

    lecture somebody else

  • Mrwowme, you took 1 whole MONTH before replying?

I'm kind of flattered you remember this debate for this long, but honestly you need to get over it.

Its been a month, people have moved on from this conversation this thread is dead so stop beating at the dead horse and go lick your ego in a corner.

  • Your 'maturity' is showing MrWowme as well as your education. Enough said!

  • MrWowme..Move to Nashville or Shut Up!

  • This town sucks, I have been living here for over 3 years, the jobless and homeless people are growing. The UT football fans are cheap, generally lack mentally, and should realize their team is a sore losers now. Not a good place to open up a business. I would prefer Nashville.

  • the icecream place is like 5 secs from my dads work haha

  • Anybody know what's going on with " Underground Knoxville ", that big stretch of paved - over area downtown ?

I'm curious, if anybody knows, fill me in.....

  • This really captures Knoxville. What a great video!

  • Oh, God, to someone living in the Metro Nashville area involuntarily, this video postcard is almost like a gift from heaven.

It's not NYC, not Chicago, not Atlanta, LA or San Francisco, DEFINITELY not Detroit ( Thank God !! ), but it's always going to be home to me. The place where you were born gets into your DNA & RNA.

  • Knoxville,Tennessee...Home of The Vols!

Like it or Leave it! Southern Hospitality--"Ya'll Come Back Now...Ya hear?" 'Smiles'

  • yeah go k town!

  • only good thing bout knox is the UT, its a good college town, other than that, it basically blows

  • im from california but been livin in knox TN for the last 9 years for gods sake do no come here for those who dont think there is any violence u know nothing! and cant make u not come here but only persuade u

  • Like I said if you don't like it here go back home.

  • im originally from knoxville i lived in farragut,my grandfather was mr.ramsy the founder of knoxville i swear im not kidding, its so amazing wat life has in store for you.i love knoxville in the morning when its all so peaceful

  • I lived in Knoxville most of my life, I had to relocate about a year ago - Not by my choice, but at least I have family here - in Metro Nashville.

What's been happening in the Downtown area ? What about " underground Knoxville ?

People don't realize how multi - cultural the place really is, & it's NOT a hamlet full of ignorant rednecks. Gallatin, TN has next to nothing, & if it weren't for my family being nearby, I'd be back there.

  • Like we tell people from outta state "If you don't like it here, the highway goes both ways" go back to California if you don't like it here.

  • BigOrangeTitan

    WHAT ??

I didn't have a heckuva lot of choice in moving away from E. TN to Middle TN, a car accident & therapy afterwards saw to that. If not for that, I'd still be there in the Biggest Little City in the U.S. !!!!

  • Kguy I was responding to lopperwq My apologies.

  • BigOT:

It's all good, man. I miss E. TN like crazy. A lot of people come here from other parts of the U.S. & Canada, & they freakin' love it !! Especially with TVA & UT in the mix. I'm stick out in Middle TN away from the FUN areas of Met Nashville, even though I have reasons for being here.

    Metro Knox ROCKS !!

  • I know dude, Virtually all my closest friends aren't even from Tennessee.

  • It's because of UT, TVA & Oak Ridge Nat'l Laboratories next door.

Gallatin, where I am now, is mostly composed of WASPS, African - Americans, & Mexicans. Not much ethnic variety.

Not a whole helluva lot of night life or bustling hotbed of cultural activity, either.

It's just 30 miles or so from Nashville, but it lacks a lot. Don't get me started !!!! ;-)

    God, am I homesick !!!

  • I gave you a tumbs up. :)

  • & I gave you one, man. Thanks !!!

I tell people around " Gracious & Growing Gallatin " ( My uncle's name for Gallatin ) about what a place Knoxville is. Gallatin is MAYBERRY compared to Knoxville !!

K - Towners have to stick together, man !!!

  • Oh, now I'm home - sick, even w / family here in Metro-Nashville.

I tell folks here in Gallatin where I'm from, & it's like I'm from NYC, Chicago or Atlanta !!!!

  • Let me give you a piece of advice. NEVER live ANYWHERE where you are unhappy. If you can change your situation, then by any means do it! Believe me I know.

  • @BigOrangeTitan

Believe me, man, if I had a choice about moving back to Knoxville from this town that rolls up its sidewalks after dark, ( for the most part, anyway ) I'd zip back so fast, the air itself would have scorch marks !

  • Nashville people from what I gather view us (East Tennesseans) basically as hicks. I can't understand why people view you as being from larger cities.

  • @BigOrangeTitan

They seem to view THEMSELVES as being like Texans or something. That's the vibe I get. So many ranches out here that you can fertilize the Sinai. :-)

Gallatin natives seem to think that Knoxville is like Brooklyn !! Beats me as to why, man.

  • BigOrangeTitan:

I'd be back there in 2 seconds, but I've got family here in Middle TN, so that kinda makes a difference, even though this place - Gallatin, TN - has minimal cultural life. It's always gonna be home / nearly sacred ground to me !!

  • That'd be J.G.M. Ramsey i'm descended from John Ramsey (Virginia) I think William went to Ohio. We're probably related.

  • William was John's borther

  • *brother

  • I lived a few onths on Knoxville as a exchange student at UTK, and let me tell you KX its a fantastic place to live and study. Its very green, peaceful, quit and there is no violence.. I was very happy there... UTK its the biggest university ive ever seen... visit Knoxville!

  • How is the nightlife there? What about public trans? I want to go to UTK for graduate school, so I am looking at maybe moving to Knoxville for a couple years. It looks like a nice historic city, and a real change of pace from my hometown of Chicago (not to mention topography...I love chicago but I want to go somewhere not so flat!)

  • I'm orginally from Knoxville, and I live in Chicago now, so I can pretty much tell u the exact differences. Nightlife there is out of control, definately a drinking town, public trans-doesn't exist. They have a downtown trolly, that circles between the campus and then there are the KAT buses that I don't know nyone who uses them because they take forever! Chicago is very flat, so u will need to get ur hiking boots on, b/c it's hilly/mountainous n ktown. It's a huge change of pace - slower!!

  • I moved to Knoxville almost 3 years ago. I love it here. This is a great video. Awesome compilation of pictures!

  • I'd love to move here. Everything I have heard about Knoxville has been great and it looks like a real old fashioned American city with spirit and a local feel. Great shots of the local architecture. I'd love to move there from where I am now, Fl, which has no soul, similar to LA...Endless malls and suburbs.

  • i live outside knoxville it's a great place!

  • hey im from knoxville.. it is oretty cool but too quiet

  • I visited University of Tennessee and loved Knoxville. The people are very nice
