@Husqvarnapro12 I personally am a fan of gravel. expecially because of the pennyslvania winters. other parts of the country are different. It is always good to ask your local professionals what they use in your area. thanks Mike
@Husqvarnapro12 thanks, In all labor there is profit, but masonry work is like farm work it is seasonal, I always had a back-up profession to make things meet. hope you do well, good luck mike
@yermi63 Hi Jeremy. in PA it cost about 12 to 16 dollars a square foot. (diffrenet measurements than australia) but it is more or less depending on the job. A good union mason makes between 200 to 300 pr day. If I bid a job I usually figure it out a couple diffrent ways. the trade has changed over the years. I use to build 3 or 4 stone fireplaces a year but haven.t built one in 8 years now. regards Mike
@TheMrBanjocat Hi Mike yes it didn't sound healthy at all.
I am also a stone mason here in Australia and I am use to grinders and the noise they make, hence why I made the comment, how are things in the Usa? much work?
here we are doing well and very busy big demand for good tradies, anyway take care Mike.
@yermi63 Hi Jeremy, things in Pennsylvania are day to day. not much like it use to be. seasonaly trades are a hard thing to make a living at. and now they are regulating everthing. Its almost like are a criminal if you are in business, you can work in this town but not that city,,,getting worse then before we declared independance. but I have steady customers that keep me busy. "A Good name is better than precious ointment" is a biblical proverb I try to live by, regards Mike
do you lay gravel underneath all of this?

Hi Mike how are you?
hopefully things will get better sooner rather than later.
I wish you all the best, thats for sure, as I mentioned here in Melbourne Australia.
we are doing well but ofcourse you need to be good at it and have the right contacts.
but I couldn't agree more with you mate.
all the best and take care mate.
ps. so that you know prices here vary from &80 AD a meter up to &140 per meter.
plus &40 per meter if they need to be sealed. two coats. so there you go.

@yermi6 funny thing you say that cause the grinder gave up the ghost (died) shortly after that. Mike
