my girlfriend broke up with me today.. it was real.. i'm normally strong and can handle anything.. but somehow.. that made me cry for hours unend.. then i started listening to this. it just.. makes me feel at peace. and even though i'm not thinking suicide.. i can somehow say i'm ready to die.
@sk8rt33 This song makes me feel at peace as well, but It also makes me want to embrace life and be a part of it. Can't say I'm ready to die...then I wouldnt be able to listen to Agalloch...hey...if you like Agalloch check out a French band called Les Discrets...you'll like it I promise.
to me, every type of matter living or natural is a reflection of god. I see god through nature everywhere. agalloch hits home for me because they capture that same essence through music. beautiful. natural and dark. I know its popular for a scene of metalheads to be athiest or whatever, but I am my own fucking person. I believe in what I want. through the raw power of this music, the dark tones ironically give me a peace of mind and connection.
I remember the first time i heard this. It's still as haunting to meas it was that first time, some beautiful lyrics and metaphors they use in this. And this reminds me of the older days of my life. This song will forever be engraved in my memory.
agalloch ist eine einzigartige band...kenne keine vergleichbare...die mischung aus melancholie , zarten, schönen melodien und harten parts machen sie zu einer meiner lieblingsbands..weiter so!
This morning, I was exhausted, broken, will-less to get myself to prepare for a day of work....and then I took a listen of this song. I closed my eyes, and just absorbed every note, ever pitch, and every word. This song brought me back to myself and helped me find peace. No song has ever done that for me before. There is something unearthly about this song, and this band. Perhaps it is because, through their music they have achieved a sound level like none other. Simply, Hail Agalloch. \m/
@Sayujinse I've had the exact same feeling with this song, brings back memories that were once forgotten. You can really admire the talent from this band, truely amazing master piece. Thank you Agalloch for this never to be forgotten music.
I don't think so...I've heard all their albums now, and the only one I can really remember something like that in is the dissonant ending to Ashes. It's not heavy, but it's disturbing.
you know what really saddens me today? agalloch is coming to germany, they are supporting dornenreich a band i don't really know, anyways, i got my ticket weeks ago and now i happen to have no money to pay the travel from cologne, where i live, to berlin. it sucks so much. i know it´s really stupid posting this here but i just happened to realize it today and i feel like telling everyone how...haha. pathetic me.
i used to run a fanzine back in late 80's, so underground was my speciality.i "discovered" bands with true talent, witch now they all succeded.Samael, sick of it all,Deathrow,Bolthrower,... demo tapes, flyers.one band after another leads you to the result YOU mean as perfect music.that's how i found the great Agalloch. now i'm a believer.REAL TALENT,real feeling. i just love them.cheers from hot Greece bro, keep up with the good music
if you want to hear GOOD music with feeling ALWAYS search to underground scene for "new" bands. This band is so inspired by winter's scenery so everytime you listen to them, you're in the woods walking on snow with wolves, breathing crystal fresh air and smeling pine and wet wood...that's why we love these guys
These guys are truly the wizards of progressive metal. They sound unlike anybody else out there. I'd love to see them on tour sometime in a classic, Opera style venue setting, with lots of background visuals and light effects! One can dream, right?
Have you noticed that the scenic images--winter, mountain, forest--always fit perfectly with Agalloch's music?

Hi, this band reminds a little to pink floyd for the psychedelic parts?
remolino0867 1 year ago
@remolino0867 I suppose it could. Good observation. But I would not be one to know particularly, I was never much of a follower of Pink Floyd. Sorry!

Destruction3402 2 years ago 13
The vocals embellish the band's eccentic style, otherwise, it's merely instrumental, which isn't detrimental, but less characteristic.
paleanger 2 years ago 6
I wish they were instrumental....the black metal vocals kinda fuck up the amazing peacefull atmosphere.
tehsprite 2 years ago
They're a different type of black vocals, with more reverb and being less in front. So if you think this is intrusive....

hmm....if i'm relaxing to their stuff with the volume up, will there be any jump out of my skin moments?
