Yea iv had a metal plate put in and in supposed to eat only soft food for 6 weeks so no xmas dinner :( but im still eating quite a lot so im hoping i wont loose any weight. also im thinkin i will still be able to go to the gym and stuff so my training dosent have to suffer so much. how much has it affected your training?
no they can't, it's the rules..but WTF merged to ITF in Championship because they low of audience, so they made new body protector (but it's very slim) and headgear
in Olympics WTF low of audience, so they made a agreement, in Olympics they can punch (so they made it more interesting). And they will study ITF pattern witch it's called tul.
yup I know, my friend is in the hard core stuff like the WTF and she ended up with a broken nose twice because they allowed punches to the face, which sucks in my opinion :(
actualy in a broken jaw situation your theet are being tied up with metal so that the mouth should be well fixed and you have to stay that way 4 weeks(not pleasant because you can't eat...only liquid stuff)......and after that the competition time out is for about 6 months........6 months is for full recovery....
if he would have a helmet, he wouldnt have broken his jaw

yeah, nowadays, there is so many WTF Sparring Competition using Glove and Foot Gear, and they also allowed to punch to the face

I broke my jaw in a karate tournament and was actually looking for that vid when I stumbled on this one. It's a loooong road to recovery.
