They don't want to upset the apple cart And they don't want to cause any harm But if you don't like what they're going to do You better not stop them cause they're coming through.
According to Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant, "When they did the remix of 'So Hard', they didn't do a remix at all, they re-wrote the record ... I had to go and sing the vocals again, they did it in a different way. I was impressed that Bill Drummond had written all the chords out and played it on an acoustic guitar, very thorough."
I always quite liked this. As a point of reference, Neil actually had to re-record his vocals since KLF completely restructured the song. It is also the only bit of the KLF's work left, since they later bought up their whole catalogue and deliberately destroyed it. Blue Man Group have license to use "Last Train to Transcentral", and I think they can only use that in Boston shows.
I have the vinyl version of this song and it´s great and shows once more how good pet shop boys were and are if they collaborate with other great and modern artists......(of course they´re also extremly good when they work on their own.... ;o)
KLF did a great remix here, kept the PSB's great bassline running through out, and the rest is pretty much their own work, flip side was pretty good too....
i think there is a bit more than just the basline in there. Unlike most remixes (remakes) these days this KLF mix still sounds like the orginal in one way or another....
Got to agree, this was and still is a great record.
First heard it in a club years ago, excited and scared the crap out of me at the same time. I new it was Neils vocal, but hadn't a clue it was an official mix. Ace!
nice mix with klfvspetshopboys sound great this will be good mix with youngoffender and yesterday when i wus mad and can you for give her im a big petshopboys fan

Great, no bass whatsoever. It sounds like someone crushing crisp packets.

The little tinkling riff which starts at 0.35 is straight from "It's Grim Up North". Marries great with the PSB's bassline.

I cannot describe enough the ingeniousness and creativity "The KLF" has put into their music. This remix is just one the shiniest examples for this.

Quite right about the KLF, but I heard "Trancentral" at the Blue Man Group's Chicago performance about a year ago.

Really?
How's one to tell the differense?
Obviously not a major effort they performed.

Have a listen to some other versions. I think it's fairly obviously different to most others.
