@SinCabezaAlicante what do you mean with "prounx"? i have "PouchX" firmware from garniak_pl. already been in "system software missing" mode after getting "crashed" into "loader loading" screen and making a reset. tried then reinstalling a working firmware, but still the same. nuvi 250 still asks for pin. maybe you know where to get "good firmware".
when you FW'd with PouchX and interrupted, you should do the update with most earlier FW. Then you need to FW with PouchX completely. Then use webupdater.
I love it! He must be an electrical controls guy to use ladder logic code and get a PLC to push the buttons for him. Looks like something I'd try after giving up entering the numbers myself. I bet it took longer to construct that enigma than it did for it to find the code :) Great video!!!
@zulle83 there are at least TWO software methods to remove the PIN. Also baby, you should know about some hardware tricks and garmin USB service mode.
@SinCabezaAlicante searched for a long time to unlock my uncle's one (i have box and everything in my hands). this one looks like a Nuvi 2xx and service mode or deleting user data doesn't help...
1-erasing user data doesn't erase pin
2-while the navigator is in boot mode you can downgrade firmware (tried different versions, but always got the "enter pin" screen), but the PC sees only the GPS and not the unit disk while booting. older fw are only in GCD version and converted in RGN don't work
lool very cool i was just considering wondering if anyones done this!! kudos.. but u can put the garmin in preboot hexedit and flash rgn..i remember doing it few months back to remove a forgotten passcode, took a few min, got another one now so gonna have to remember, fucking garmins..so mch hassle.. I'll post the steps if i get it sorted
I've had my garmin Zumo in the drawer for at least 5 months because i can't remember the darn password. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually tried writing down the different combinations i've tried but gave up eventually. I really like the Zumo but had to get a Nuvi instead. Can you help. Or tell how to build the contraption haha.
hahaha crazy, hardware brute forcing a garmin security PIN... that's seriously epic. You know there is an easier way.. by desoldering a tiny ram chip that holds the pin. You could do it in probably 30 minutes rather than 23 hours.
@quakefiend I have been trying for weeks to unlock my Garmin nuvi 1350. Purchased it off eBay expecting to receive a reliable unit, next thing I know..."What's the password!"
I don't know bad I could express how desparate I am as to unlocking this, (without a time machine)! I am a young college student planning a trip with the family out of the state and I don't have the $ to purchase another. If you could take a moment of your time could you PLEASE help me with you theory of desoldering?
@quakefiend Hey, i want to remove pin, what ram chip are you talking about? ive opened up the gps and cant seem to find the ram chip, Is there anyway to find out where it is or how to find/ identify the ram chip? any help would be appreciated, thanks alot in advance
I did the same thing manually it took me 30 min started from 0001 - 0070 got tired and went to 1000-1026 and that was it the pin that opened it was 1026 !!! Got it udated and works fine.
Dude I have the same Garmin Nuvi 780. But mine has more than four digits code to break. Or this particular model only inputs 4 digit codes? Thanx in advance..
@awdtsitalon has your dad ever thought about going into the "safe" cracking business...Fuck retirement...He could be Like DeNiro in "The Heist"...awesome flick!
Very creative project man

PIN easy removing by some software tricks

@SinCabezaAlicante Missing the point man
jimnkristy 6 months ago
@SinCabezaAlicante stop trolling... there is no desoldering pins and no software tricks to hack the pin. there are only 3 ways to unlock it:
1- insert correct pin;
2- go to "home" position;
3- send it to Garmin and pay as much as a new navigator to get it unlocked.

@zulle83 you dont need to erase user data. it will not help.
fastest way to remove PIN is playing with firmwares. the thing you need is to clear 40th region.
SinCabezaAlicante 2 months ago
@SinCabezaAlicante ok, but what do you mean with "clear 40th region"? setting the 40th (hexadecimal, not 40th decimal) byte to 00?

Pretty ingenious but all you have to do is enter master unlock code 10 times (will report as invalid PIN) and it's unlocked.
