  • All the pulley types shown are being used under the exact same conditions, no matter what age the tensioner and belts are. It shows the difference between using an OAD and other alt pulley types. Also, we did not use a 2011 pulley because this video was filmed in early 2010. They may have improved, but the real test is to see how many OE platforms they get business on long term. Our company designed the first belt tensioner ever and continues to be the industry leader.

  • but how old were the tensioner and the belts in this engine? They seem pretty old and worn , you just put a new pulley instead. What about replacing all the front end parts ( i.e. pulley, tensioner and belt ) ? Also the ZEN pulley tested is from 2007 why didn't you compare it with a 2011 pulley? They have improved it a lot since that.

  • In Europe people have been substituting the decoupler for clutch without any problem since many years. Also clutch pulleys are much cheaper than decouplers.

  • @midwestraptor New lean system models are being designed by the car manufacturers with the OAD in mind. Please note many people think replacing the OAD with a clutch pulley does not cause problems because they are looking at the alternator. However, the problems will most likely arise in the other components of the system (i.e. tensioners, idlrs, waterpumps, etc). Yes, clutch pulleys are cheaper due to them including far fewer internal components than OADs.

  • Moses, those belts are almost as quiet running as v-belts on a 30 yr. old engine.

Anything to make money, I say.

  • great vid
