To everyone who hates Barry because he took steroids it takes more than steroids to be a great hitter. Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron didnt have to face half as good of pitchers as Barry did.
@acecog doesnt matter. The game of baseball is based all around statistics and if someone takes steroids it makes it unfair. Ruth wasnt able to take steroids back then to give him a boost. Thats why the league takes a big stand against roids.
ty cobb was a racist prick who was hated by everyone. does anyone care today? pete rose was a liar, cheat, and bet against his own team, and now all these hypocrites who hate bonds thinks rose should be in the hall.

Not only that but the fans and the city still love him, way more than Pittsburg did, so just get on with whatever life you may or may not have and just leave the guy alone
He actually does own the record so fucking deal with it. Yes he may have used roids, but they didnt make him much stronger. The quickness of ones swing is what allows a hitter to swing when he so chooses. And Barry, having one of the quickest swings known to man, was able to then hit homers
What a piece of shit this guy is... Breaking the babe's record pfft. What a fucking disgrace. Hit 307 of his 762 HR AFTER age 36. Bahahaha, guy must've trained with Hulk Hogan to bulk up as much as he did.

@TemplarReturns The Babe was on top of the line meds in his day too...What you think the Babe didnt have it in him to cheat...He was a scumbag New Yorker like the rest of em...The Babe took PED's just like Jordan...Tiger Woods...Muhammed Ali...and Barry Bonds...whoever else you can think of..Mike Tyson too.
Hard to join in that celebration. This from the guy who told ex White Sox Ron Kittle, who was trying to get signatures for some charity, "I don't sign for white people." O yeah. So happy for Barry. Doubtless he grew up with so much white man oppression as the son of a million dollar ballplayer that these behaviors are strangely warranted. What a crock.
Babe Ruth is actually the best home run hitter of all time(I think best player.) If he had the same number of at-bats as Hank Aaron and most people these days, he would have probably had about 1,000 home runs.
Love how all the haters of Barry "knew all along " that he, along with others, were doing steroids. When during that time period, everyone believed that the ball was juiced. At least thats what the media of the day was telling us. The fans believed it. The fans loved the home runs, the record chasing, the explosive offenses. So don't give me this shit that your offended by steroids. If that's the case then you must hate the NFL and Olympics. Those athletes do nothing but cheat,.

Barry Barry, God I miss that noise. In old Candlestick with the people in the bleachers using their feet to rattle the metal, that messed with a lot of pitchers heads.
The thing that pisses me off the most is you know those fans would be booing his ass out of the stadium for being a roided up douchebag if he was wearing another uniform, they were cheering because of the name in front of his jersey, not because of him
I think most people don't give two hoots about Barry Bonds and his "record". Although most baseball fans recognize that Bonds was an outstanding hitter long before he used steroids, they also know exactly when he started using steroids. It is obvious from the statistics. I think most baseball fans have no use for Bonds and all of the other countless players of that era that resorted to steroids. I don't know how anyone can admire this generation of cheaters.

@dontmakemegetcha123 ur ignorant because you're taking the info blindly. barry stood head and shoulders above the competition in an era when baseball was riddled with users. he was walked more than anyone in history, hit against juiced pitchers, and had some pretty fucking impressive results. case closed
@dontmakemegetcha123 i'd argue that barry is a better all-around player than all of them. not just a pure hitter but a fielder and base stealer as well. i have no disrespect for the other three you named, all of which are baseball legends, but barry deserves so much more respect than he gets.
I know it is hard in this day of age where everyone wants to be against any white ball players of old school; it is kind of hip today to not give fair credit to guys of that age.
Or it seems that everyone is overly racially correct, or there overcompensate in correctness. But let's face it- Babe Ruth was the Wilt Chamberlain, of the sport of Baseball.
His records were created by a guy who was drunk in nearly every game and he ate like a cow. What athlete could do that and be the greatest?
I have to preface this off, as I am not a Yankee fan. I am a Seattle Mariner fan. Ken Griffey Junior to me has been the only player of this generation even close to Ruth.
If' Griffey would have not had his string of years of bad luck he could have possibly legitimately beat Ruth's record: as I don't trust most of the players today here. A lot of the players look like they take some kind of growth enhancement drug. I am not going to name names. But I know Ken Griffey Junior he was a legit.
And to be honest here about the Babe's Record in reality it has never and never will be broken; considering that the Babe set his record in a 144 game season and did it with with around here 3,000 less at bats than Hank Aaron used to beat Ruth.
In reality Ruth's record has not been broken, nor will it. Barry Bonds with or without steroids still took about 2,000, or around that much more at bats than Ruth. That says more about Ruth, and how he is the best player to ever play the game.
@mamaschristmasbunny The whole "Ruth was a drunk/fat all the time" thing is complete bull. If you go and actually look at Ruth in his prime, he was everything but out-of-shape.
Also, if you're going to use the whole "different era" argument, you're using it against yourself. Ruth set that record in an all white league, when mlb was still segregated. Pitching also is seriously a million times better in todays era than it was when Ruth played.
@Steve9842007, not to get too serious about this; as neither one of us- play or will ever play Major League baseball. And neither of us- should care too much about Sports. There are a lot of things a lot more important to give our care away too.
Yours is a fallacy to say the pitching is better now than it was back when. Because' we don't know. As' still white pitchers from US dominate in number, MLB, still.
Numbers like Babe's don't lie. It is only you who doesn't want to see truth. :)
@mamaschristmasbunny So you're calling me the one that's ignorant from the truth when you're the one denying the difference between the live era of baseball and Ruth's era? That's hilarious. Also, African-American/Asian/Latino/etc players have dominated far more than White baseball players. Face it, Ruth played in an easier era. That's beyond hilarious if you think pitching back then was even close to what pitching is now. Pitching back then was a joke. Go read around a bit before making claims.
@mamaschristmasbunny sooooo longevity doesnt contribute to a players greatness..? If im not mistaken, players who play longer than others, ARE USUALLY the self evident case of one athlete being in better physical/playing condition than the other (aka better athlete or performer)....and just the fact that they took longer, to break Ruth's records, is miniscule
@zeppelin1566, this subject is something that the Babe doesn't need me on. I will only refer you to the MLB stats and records department to make comparison for yourself.
As' I am not too broken up nor do I really care, that you think Barry "Roid" Bonds is great. Facts don't lie. And stats are the only real record account we have for comparing one era to another. Babe got to 715, much much much quicker than anyone, FACT. FACT, I don't really care. Babe didn't have fitness trainers nor roids.
@mamaschristmasbunny Its a good thing Barry never took steroids either...Or else he would have been banned from baseball...At least once anyways...Bottom line, Bonds IS the Home Run King...Ruth doesnt have shit on Barry fucking Bonds...FACT
@jimmydugan007 ruth faced garbage pitchers back in the day and the ball parks were much shorter compared to today's ball parks while bonds faced tougher pitchers and he played in candlestick park...the most difficult stadium to hit a homerun in... you're just a hater becasue you can't accept the fact that bonds is one of the best baseball players ever
@thrillaking510 LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Old parks were fucking massive! The majority of them never even had a homer hit to center. Do you fucking understand most parks in the ruth era had a center depth of 450-600 feet? Nobody has even ever hit a 600 ft homer. Bonds was good but he's a fucking cheater.
@thrillaking510 Alright, slow down. For one, did I ever mention a thing about steriods? No, I called him a cheater. Secondly I didn't know you had to be a smart hitter on the mound.. Maybe you should think before you type dumb fuck. Bonds was good, still doesn't change the fact he cheated. Also look at pictures of him from every year he played, you'll notice how much bigger he is when he hits more HRs. IE steroids. The bitch still wouldn't hit a ball out of the old parks as i said before.
@jimmydugan007 To be honest no one knows if babe was taking top of the line meds back then...but i dont mean anything by it ...just thinking outside the box..Barry Bonds was a great player as a skinny kid too.
@MrSlik25 He wasnt. The only thing he used and took was hotdogs and beer and partied all day and still won the hearts of baseball fans. Because Bonds did it does not mean we should go on a witch hunt and accuse the legends of the sport as being dopers.
@TemplarReturns First Off dont say he wasn't like it's a fact...Were you the team doctor checking his blood stream in 1920??? Were you?.? ok then...You dont have a clue just like i dont...It's not a witch hunt...its a possibility simple as that...Because with all the hot dogs, beer, and partying...Your physical performance is gonna lack...In my opinion the more i think about it he probably lived like that because he knew he was taking top of the line meds and was still gonna have that Power..hmm
@TemplarReturns I think he was on top meds because how else could he live like a maniac and still perform for so long...Thats why he was so powerful and hit so many...the meds...Eureka!!!! Barry Bonds has been Vindicated!!!! The Homerun King is Barry Bonds!!!!! The Babe is a mere third...A Bronze Medalist.
@MrSlik25 Pssft! Aaron didnt shake his hand because he knew Bonds was a shit cheater. Bonds career is like this... 765* He had to cheat and slither his way onto the top homerun list because he couldnt earn it on his own and cheated the fans out of the very joy that baseball was. Thanks to others like, he tainted history and this sport. The Babe and Henry are the true champions of home runs. Vindicated....more like relegated. Keeping drink the punch
@TemplarReturns Listen at the end of the day The Babe had to be on the juice because beer and hotdogs would've worn him down to nothing in one winter and he would have never recovered...The Babe is the real cheater...Ther Iron Horse, The Splendid Splinter, Cal Ripken Jr., and The "Say Hey" Kid are the truest legends in baseball...and The All Time Great Roberto Clemente.
@MrSlik25 Sorry, if you didnt know he was a party animal, that he stood out late the night before and partied every single day... then you dont know iconic baseball culture. He's one of the most prolific and iconic sports icons during the last century. But he did this for many winters and you know this is true, 1 billion people who love the babe cant be idiots and dispute his greatness, any baseball lover believes that and so do you so dont play the defense card. Simple youtube troll
@jimmydugan007 No doubt Ruth will forever be #1. But I hate this steroid shit. THERE IS NO REASON A-ROD SHOULDN'T BE IN THE HOF. This is just the same thing these moron sports writers did (and are doing) to Roger Maris. The guy gets screwed over his whole life, never lived even one year knowing he was the undisputed single season home run rec owner (they gave it to him without an * after he was dead). This isn't about the fans, but the sports writers. Baseball and all sports are about the fans
@2012uchicago Every sport costs money (lots). THE ONLY REASON these writers are able to make money doing nothing (aka writing about baseball) is because of the fans. PUT MARIS IN THE FUCKING HALL OF FAME
i used to think he was "the devil," but now I don't really think it was a big deal. of course he juiced, but the guys who used obviously have problems admitting that they did. he should just admit it.
I remember the press interviewed the kid who caught the ball. When asked about whether or not he would sell the ball he said "I don't care much for the guy." LOL
Barry Bonds will never deserve the recognition that the greats such as Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, and Cal Ripken Jr. achieved...He's a cheater, everyone knows it, and stats don't mean shit when it comes to reputation and achieving the title of "legend" in baseball.
@maltzlovincreampies We all know that but we are going to have to live with is forever. I hate Barry more then the next person but we cannot change the past even if we wanted to.
Bonds shouldnt have done steriods he was already hitting crazy amount of homeruns and he was a lot quicker just like how he was on the Pirates you have to still give him credit since steriods doesnt make your hand-eye any better
@KoreanPride21 i know right. me and my dad always say that they shouldnt have taken steroids out of the game. now the game is boring. Me and my dad also say that even if you take steroids you have to still hit the ball otherwise its useless...
that sucks cuz i heard it on the radio and dave flemming (giants radio play by play, great guy btw) his microphone went out when bonds hit it! it was so loud at AT&T Park i guess haha.
baseball isnt how it used to be. you might think someone like pujols isnt on steroids but they you find out a month later he has been. everyone should look up to derek jeter. he's the real role model
The sad thing about Barry Bonds is that had he never taken illegal substances, he would have made the Hall of Fame anyway. And now--he will not. Poetic justice, which will also be dealt to McGwire the Liar.
@187h8ters Yeah! And no one else believes that! Bonds cheated! He took steroids! That shouldn't count! Aero997 is right, he was tested positive more than twice, and his "records" should be erased!
@187h8ters Steroids make you hit the ball farther, doesn't teach you the immense hand eye coordination needed to fucking hit it though. Learn how to spell before making these insignificant judgments about one of the greatest players of all time you fuck face.
@mee11mee You call Barry Bonds a great player thats like saying Ken Griffey Jr is not a great but he is and who gives a fuck how you spell its Youtube who gives a shit
@187h8ters no wonder your hating...just look at your screen name......Barry is, and will be, the BEST BALL PLAYER OF OUR TIME...Period. Try arguing his numbers GENIUS. Do you really think steroids help your vision and timing..? Do you really think, that a player, who was pretty much an instant All Star when he came into the league in 1986, needed any more help.....This is also, a man who has never been suspended from the MLB, or sent to jail ONCE in his life, for the illegal use of steroids...
steriods dont make you a better hitter.you need the proper mechanics to be a good hitter, which he had.but the steroids helped him with the muscles it gave him
@JACKALOW4LIFE I bet 90% of baseball players use steroids.

mothahen123 1 year ago
@dontmakemegetcha123 ur ignorant because you're taking the info blindly. barry stood head and shoulders above the competition in an era when baseball was riddled with users. he was walked more than anyone in history, hit against juiced pitchers, and had some pretty fucking impressive results. case closed
mothahen123 1 year ago
@dontmakemegetcha123 you know nothing about baseball. i can tell by your arguement
mothahen123 1 year ago

What athlete could do that and be the greatest?
mamaschristmasbunny 1 year ago
I have to preface this off, as I am not a Yankee fan. I am a Seattle Mariner fan. Ken Griffey Junior to me has been the only player of this generation even close to Ruth.
If' Griffey would have not had his string of years of bad luck he could have possibly legitimately beat Ruth's record: as I don't trust most of the players today here. A lot of the players look like they take some kind of growth enhancement drug. I am not going to name names. But I know Ken Griffey Junior he was a legit.
mamaschristmasbunny 1 year ago
And to be honest here about the Babe's Record in reality it has never and never will be broken; considering that the Babe set his record in a 144 game season and did it with with around here 3,000 less at bats than Hank Aaron used to beat Ruth.
In reality Ruth's record has not been broken, nor will it. Barry Bonds with or without steroids still took about 2,000, or around that much more at bats than Ruth. That says more about Ruth, and how he is the best player to ever play the game.
mamaschristmasbunny 1 year ago
@mamaschristmasbunny The whole "Ruth was a drunk/fat all the time" thing is complete bull. If you go and actually look at Ruth in his prime, he was everything but out-of-shape.
Also, if you're going to use the whole "different era" argument, you're using it against yourself. Ruth set that record in an all white league, when mlb was still segregated. Pitching also is seriously a million times better in todays era than it was when Ruth played.
Steve9842007 1 year ago
@Steve9842007, not to get too serious about this; as neither one of us- play or will ever play Major League baseball. And neither of us- should care too much about Sports. There are a lot of things a lot more important to give our care away too.
Yours is a fallacy to say the pitching is better now than it was back when. Because' we don't know. As' still white pitchers from US dominate in number, MLB, still.
Numbers like Babe's don't lie. It is only you who doesn't want to see truth. :)
mamaschristmasbunny 1 year ago
@mamaschristmasbunny So you're calling me the one that's ignorant from the truth when you're the one denying the difference between the live era of baseball and Ruth's era? That's hilarious. Also, African-American/Asian/Latino/etc players have dominated far more than White baseball players. Face it, Ruth played in an easier era. That's beyond hilarious if you think pitching back then was even close to what pitching is now. Pitching back then was a joke. Go read around a bit before making claims.
Steve9842007 1 year ago
@mamaschristmasbunny sooooo longevity doesnt contribute to a players greatness..? If im not mistaken, players who play longer than others, ARE USUALLY the self evident case of one athlete being in better physical/playing condition than the other (aka better athlete or performer)....and just the fact that they took longer, to break Ruth's records, is miniscule
zeppelin1566 1 year ago
@zeppelin1566, this subject is something that the Babe doesn't need me on. I will only refer you to the MLB stats and records department to make comparison for yourself.
As' I am not too broken up nor do I really care, that you think Barry "Roid" Bonds is great. Facts don't lie. And stats are the only real record account we have for comparing one era to another. Babe got to 715, much much much quicker than anyone, FACT. FACT, I don't really care. Babe didn't have fitness trainers nor roids.
mamaschristmasbunny 1 year ago
@mamaschristmasbunny Its a good thing Barry never took steroids either...Or else he would have been banned from baseball...At least once anyways...Bottom line, Bonds IS the Home Run King...Ruth doesnt have shit on Barry fucking Bonds...FACT

@jimmydugan007 ruth faced garbage pitchers back in the day and the ball parks were much shorter compared to today's ball parks while bonds faced tougher pitchers and he played in candlestick park...the most difficult stadium to hit a homerun in... you're just a hater becasue you can't accept the fact that bonds is one of the best baseball players ever
thrillaking510 8 months ago
@thrillaking510 HE TOKE STERIODS THATS CHEATING
Soxerish 8 months ago
@thrillaking510 LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Old parks were fucking massive! The majority of them never even had a homer hit to center. Do you fucking understand most parks in the ruth era had a center depth of 450-600 feet? Nobody has even ever hit a 600 ft homer. Bonds was good but he's a fucking cheater.
cfishernb 8 months ago
@cfishernb naw you are just a hater, steroids dont make you hit homeruns dumbass, you need to be a good smart hitter when you are up on the mound
thrillaking510 8 months ago
@thrillaking510 Alright, slow down. For one, did I ever mention a thing about steriods? No, I called him a cheater. Secondly I didn't know you had to be a smart hitter on the mound.. Maybe you should think before you type dumb fuck. Bonds was good, still doesn't change the fact he cheated. Also look at pictures of him from every year he played, you'll notice how much bigger he is when he hits more HRs. IE steroids. The bitch still wouldn't hit a ball out of the old parks as i said before.
cfishernb 8 months ago
@jimmydugan007 To be honest no one knows if babe was taking top of the line meds back then...but i dont mean anything by it ...just thinking outside the box..Barry Bonds was a great player as a skinny kid too.
MrSlik25 8 months ago
@MrSlik25 He wasnt. The only thing he used and took was hotdogs and beer and partied all day and still won the hearts of baseball fans. Because Bonds did it does not mean we should go on a witch hunt and accuse the legends of the sport as being dopers.
TemplarReturns 7 months ago
@TemplarReturns First Off dont say he wasn't like it's a fact...Were you the team doctor checking his blood stream in 1920??? Were you?.? ok then...You dont have a clue just like i dont...It's not a witch hunt...its a possibility simple as that...Because with all the hot dogs, beer, and partying...Your physical performance is gonna lack...In my opinion the more i think about it he probably lived like that because he knew he was taking top of the line meds and was still gonna have that Power..hmm
MrSlik25 7 months ago
@TemplarReturns I think he was on top meds because how else could he live like a maniac and still perform for so long...Thats why he was so powerful and hit so many...the meds...Eureka!!!! Barry Bonds has been Vindicated!!!! The Homerun King is Barry Bonds!!!!! The Babe is a mere third...A Bronze Medalist.
MrSlik25 7 months ago
@MrSlik25 Pssft! Aaron didnt shake his hand because he knew Bonds was a shit cheater. Bonds career is like this... 765* He had to cheat and slither his way onto the top homerun list because he couldnt earn it on his own and cheated the fans out of the very joy that baseball was. Thanks to others like, he tainted history and this sport. The Babe and Henry are the true champions of home runs. Vindicated....more like relegated. Keeping drink the punch
TemplarReturns 7 months ago
@TemplarReturns Listen at the end of the day The Babe had to be on the juice because beer and hotdogs would've worn him down to nothing in one winter and he would have never recovered...The Babe is the real cheater...Ther Iron Horse, The Splendid Splinter, Cal Ripken Jr., and The "Say Hey" Kid are the truest legends in baseball...and The All Time Great Roberto Clemente.
MrSlik25 7 months ago
@MrSlik25 Sorry, if you didnt know he was a party animal, that he stood out late the night before and partied every single day... then you dont know iconic baseball culture. He's one of the most prolific and iconic sports icons during the last century. But he did this for many winters and you know this is true, 1 billion people who love the babe cant be idiots and dispute his greatness, any baseball lover believes that and so do you so dont play the defense card.
