Loop requirements on both versions are:

Two or less bombs used

OR

Seven or less deaths and bombs combined

I usually end up bombing on the stage 5 mid-boss (scatter pattern) and the final bosses oval pattern, but by bombing nowhere else I can hit the loop fairly consistantly. The second loop is absolutely brutal though; Suicide bullets everywhere and if you die you're sent to the start of the stage.

Cave bosses have brutal bullet-patterns while Touhou has beautiful ones.

Actually, there are 10 levels if I remember right. You just have to do the requirements to get to second loop.

You need to fulfill certain parameters and stuff to get the second loop (next 5 stages). It's the usual Cave insanity that I trust JudgeSpear to nail somehow.

@bmxdudleydo Actually, the American version has 10 stages, but you have to beat the first 5 with no continues, 1 death or fewer, and 2 bombs or fewer. I've managed to get to Stage 7 using savestates, but trust me, it's ridiculous.

It's the fact that almost all of it's shot patterns are SO GOD DAMN RANDOM...There is no pattern to them, and trying to find logic in the battle will just get you killed...

Ok, so people noticed that the gem counter was absurd high, but am I the only person who found the score disturbingly high, also? Seriously, check it...221.9 mil at the end of the boss battle plus sitting on a 4.16 mil gem bonus. Wow.

Sick... sick concentration i love it.

The hardest part for me is those dang green/yellow bullets at the end. Its very hard getting through those. I couldn't imagine playing this game with an arcade stick either ^_^

Can anyone recommend a way to record Replays in mame that is reasonable ?
