    my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/06/14/html5-and-then-some

  • opera 10.6 isn't have webm support yet, but there is a lab version wich it does. labs.opera.com/news/2010/05/19/

  • dont work in opera 10.60a1

  • i cant change the speed thing next to the play button in fire fox menu just goes away

  • Works great on opera 10.54

  • works great with firefox 3.7a webm build.

  • Watching this in Opera 10.54.

It's great that there is more and more FREE software available, even professional ones.

  • Great LOads extremely fast and smooth just needs 1080p and fullscreen

  • @AlexPeegs Youtube HTML5 has already fullscreen.. is your browser that does not have it.. on safari webkit i had fullscreen.. im sure firefox also have fullscreen support in html5, you have to right click on a video and select full screen.

  • @DislikeYou0000 I just checked with firefox on windows.. Fullscreen html5 on youtube does not work.. but when i tried some webm demo on another website i could use full screen hmm..

  • @DislikeYou0000 lol.. now i can watch html5 webm in full screen on youtube.. before when i right click it did not show the menu and Full screen option but now it does so firefox does works with full screen html5 webm ;)

  • as long as it has full screen....

  • A little bug on the HTML5 player: when it's loading a segment of video halfway through the play, it keeps going and then turns back to the point when the segment is finally loaded. I'd prefer if it paused until the segment loaded.

  • @ArkBlitz Also, moving the video controls to go to a certain point of the video already downloaded is buggy still.

  • Chromium build 47792 works with the video. It displays "WEBM" and "HTML5" at the bottom.

  • I see the HTML5 WEBM player in Opera 10.54 build 21868. I just downloaded it from the Labs Opera page linked from the webmproject supported web browsers page. So far that is trhe only browser build that works for me. I also tried the Chromium nightly and it does not support WebM. I am also failing to get YouTube to accept my own encoded VP8 uploads as WebM. Hopefully soon.

  • I guess me too,

    Tried Firefox and Chromium.

Anyway this looks like a nice development.

  • I have joined the HTML5 beta and I am using the latest Chromium build r47749 (which is a May 19 build so probably does not have WebM support yet) and this video displays the text:

Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available.

    followed by blue text

Click here to visit our frequently asked questions about HTML5 video.

That link lists the Supported Browsers which claims WebM is coming soon for Chrome. I guess I am too impatient!

  • @youtubesneak Right now there is just a handful of videos already encoded to WebM. Be patient.

  • @ArkBlitz Now two browser builds are playing HTML5: Chromium 47798 and Opera 10.54 build 21868. Things are developing nicely. Soon we can hope to be rid of the dreaded Flash and Quicktime.
