  • I could read your lips and figure the rest out..

  • that was COOL to watch :) i understood most signs-very similar to Auslan :) thanx for sharing :)

  • Hi ! I just started DEAF101 at Vic and my lecturers r rachel and david. thye r awesome and i love it! its awesome to see how good you are after doing 101 and 102! I hope I will be that good. keep it up!

  • Unfortunalely, I have no time for signing at the moment. I'm working full time now :s and planning my wedding.

  • Hi appledumplingpie (lol) Thanks for your comment! What you should do is talk to your tutor, or Rachel, and see if they can set up a Deaf coffee for the class. Its where you meet at the Uni cafe once a week after class and sign for as long as you want. It was great fun. Or you could look into a group called 'signing space' ask your tutor about it. they usually meet once a month for social signing. Also, there's Deaf club every Friday - ask your tutor about that too lol.

  • Hey man I've just started DEAF101 4 weeks ago, I love it! You're right it can be hard finding chances to practice! Would you be interested in helping get a group of students together occasionally to practice together? It would be cool experiencing Sign in a more social situation. My Dad went to Newlands haha

  • this is GREAT well done!

  • @yournamewhat i love your username :)

  • Thanks for all your comments :D

  • Hey,

I'm doing 101 this trimester with Sara, David and Rachel.

Your 'vlog' was fun to watch, it was great to see how much I can already pick up on.

You should definately go to AUT - sounds like a great plan.

    Good luck with nzsl

  • Your signing is clear and flows nicely. Just one comment don't use the term 'interpret' until you are qualified ( which I strongly urge you to do, we need more males in the profession!!) instead use 'communicate' less confusion for the deaf clients you are working with. Keep up the good work!! :)

  • @TheSignLady I agree with this comment. Technically speaking you are a "communicator". I've just applied for the AUT course after mulling it over for 5 years. Your sign is good, slow and clear. For the Deaf community I would practice practice practice. Also work on your grammar as you did include some NZSL grammar, but on the whole it was English grammar with NZSL signs.

Whole-heartedly I strong agree that you would do well in the AUT program! The Deaf need more male interpreters!

  • Thanks for uploading this vlog. Nice practise for me to watch your signing.

    Great job

  • hi. Ive been searching for nzsl videos to watch to practice my nzsl, and i agree, there are not many on utube. thanks for adding yours.
