Hi there, great video! PLEASE could you do Silent Night in NZSL - there is only American SL on Youtube and it would be awesome for our tamariki to be able to learn the NZ version. Thanks!
Hi ! I just started DEAF101 at Vic and my lecturers r rachel and david. thye r awesome and i love it! its awesome to see how good you are after doing 101 and 102! I hope I will be that good. keep it up!
Hi appledumplingpie (lol) Thanks for your comment! What you should do is talk to your tutor, or Rachel, and see if they can set up a Deaf coffee for the class. Its where you meet at the Uni cafe once a week after class and sign for as long as you want. It was great fun. Or you could look into a group called 'signing space' ask your tutor about it. they usually meet once a month for social signing. Also, there's Deaf club every Friday - ask your tutor about that too lol.
Hey man I've just started DEAF101 4 weeks ago, I love it! You're right it can be hard finding chances to practice! Would you be interested in helping get a group of students together occasionally to practice together? It would be cool experiencing Sign in a more social situation. My Dad went to Newlands haha
Your signing is clear and flows nicely. Just one comment don't use the term 'interpret' until you are qualified ( which I strongly urge you to do, we need more males in the profession!!) instead use 'communicate' less confusion for the deaf clients you are working with. Keep up the good work!! :)
@TheSignLady I agree with this comment. Technically speaking you are a "communicator". I've just applied for the AUT course after mulling it over for 5 years. Your sign is good, slow and clear. For the Deaf community I would practice practice practice. Also work on your grammar as you did include some NZSL grammar, but on the whole it was English grammar with NZSL signs.
Whole-heartedly I strong agree that you would do well in the AUT program! The Deaf need more male interpreters!
I could read your lips and figure the rest out..

Unfortunalely, I have no time for signing at the moment. I'm working full time now :s and planning my wedding.

Hey,
I'm doing 101 this trimester with Sara, David and Rachel.
Your 'vlog' was fun to watch, it was great to see how much I can already pick up on.
You should definately go to AUT - sounds like a great plan.
Good luck with nzsl
