Of course, in judo this choke is called kuzure-hadaka-jime. But you should remember that "sankaku" means triangle. Maybe other martial arts called this "sankaku" because of this triangle made by tori's hands? ;-]
Rear naked choke was brought to the us arm after encountering its use from Japanese soldiers. it was then incorporated into many uses ie sports.

hha either way you look at it... Japanese or othewise, it is still pretty much rear-naked choke lol
but that is comming from a guy that uses BJJ

This is not a sankaku jime its a kuzure hadaka jime (its an alternative for hadaka jime) sankaku is the one we know as triangle....in mma or BJJ.
