I like this version a LOT more than the one on the album! The lyrics on the final version were terrible, but this one sounds punkier and more raw, much closer to the live version, which absolutely smokes!
Hell yes, all the alternate versions of songs from this album were superior. Native Son, the alternate Yahweh, this version of All Because of You. Also Mercy is a MONSTER song that they left off. U2 needs to stop caring about what sells and start going with their their experiments.
What I love about those versions is their unfinished and rough touch. You feel the work in progress. The energy is different. Parts are better or worst than the official version... But it depends on what every one likes! Looks like, this was not the version U2 wanted to make. But they shared it with their FANS, which is great!

Its better than the album version, but that's not saying alot, the album version is just terrible, with possibly THE worst set of lyrics that Bono ever wrote (it makes you wish someone had stolen them this time instead of when they made "October"). There was a great song here, I just dont think they captured it in either version.
But this is an improvement over the album version, no denying that. Thanks for posting!

I like the verses on this version better but the chorus and solo part better on the album version but this one sounds more atmospheric.

The lyrics are so much better in this version, but the vocals are worse. I'd say it's overall about equal to the album version.

I much prefer this version.. You can hear those highlight edge guitar parts.. ie, 45 sec in. Those are those guitar parts that give shivers..
