  • I really liked it...sure it needs some work and smoothing out, but what a great pursuit for a group of young men. You looked like you really enjoyed it. If you get a chance to perform this again, slow it down. Rehearse it after a 10 mile run or a 2 mile swim...get everyone to mellow out and relax just a little and let this song flow out of you.

  • @SteelCityEndurance haha that's the most creative strategy for slowing tempo I have heard. This song was actually performed dozens of times, this just happens to be the fan vid a previous webmaster posted.

  • I think it's great!

  • you really should change the title; that's really irritating. no, no one with any brains attributes this song to van morrison. and no, your guy does not sound like van morrison.

you really should change the title to this.

did i mention that you Really Should Change the Title.....???

  • You guys are great!

  • Well I actually very much anjoyed this video and don't understand why there are so many dislikes and negative comments on it. Is it perfect? no. But these appear to be high school kids and I thought it was a great performance other than the guy who freaked out cuz the other put his arm around him. Also here's a thought about the title. You can change that but still put van morrison in the keywords. This video has enough views to be found whatever the search I think. ~Julie

  • da dum *1000 ew.

  • STOP. Yall just STOP!

  • Nice lead....and chorus! King Harvest--as you've heard..

  • My ears are now bleeding,I'm suing you...Where's Gloria Allred (sarcasm)

  • Good show guys! It was a good attempt.

  • ruined the song

  • thanks for posting....you guys are pretty cool

  • Everybody is trying to be a star and oversinging thier parts. Too bad because it coulda been really cool. Yes and it's kinda stupid you didn't fix the title/artist error.

  • Well, I think it sounds pretty darn good. Though there are few left in this world who appreciate some lovely treble. Most everything is inundated with unnecessary bass boom. But to each his own! Also, I don't hear the horrible out of tune sound that everyone is complaining about. Maybe I'm just out of it. But these chords are hard to sing and I thought most came off very effectively.

  • Just a bit too much going on at once... has potential though

  • theres no such thing as a barber shop cortette anymore :(. none of them sound any good. they are either singing out of tune or timing. this group is no different. they are very out of time and too fast but im not gonna be stupid so its cool that you tried the song out cuz it really is a great one

  • @mvideokid Hey thanks for the honesty and feedback! There actually are plenty of barbershop quartets around. There's a thriving Barbershop community! Google barbershop, search for some videos, and check out some of the more popular ones.

  • @mvideokid As an avid barbershopper, I have to say politely that you are extremely, extremely incorrect.

  • i don't mind covers, but omfg......

  • turn off the mic!!!! eeek.

  • Definitely too sharp.

  • brown eyed girl is dancing in the moonlight with morrison in a king harvest concert jeje

  • is zwar nicht das original aber gut

  • so bad

  • YOU have great voices...but the song is a little too fast....

  • Some have called him the songbird of his generation

  • We have no idea who @kingharvestmusic is and they don't have anything to do with our band. Have some fun guys. Thanks for doing our tune.

  • hot garbage ='(

  • that was so bad

  • @eamovies90 Actually, the song is by King Harvest, though commonly misattributed to Van Morrison.

  • Wrong again. Song is by Sherman Kelly who sang it with Boffalongo. He later introduced it to king havest because his brother was in that band.

  • @CabbageRollemmmm

    Thompkins County

  • Great job guys! With limited technology...you had fun and did the tune justice!

  • first off that kid was not about to get roped into the group hug

also your tempo is way too fast. the intro is fine and then it just gets faster and faster for some reason

  • your tempo is way too fast, the intro was good but you keep getting faster, i don't understand why

  • Always a NTS favorite of mine.

  • the guy who doesnt want to get side-hugged always reminds me of Eddie Brock for some reason.

  • You guys realize that Van Morrison has never ever recorded a version of Dancing in the Moonlight, right?

  • @RyanStrikesAgain Haha, yes, we are fully aware. However, thousands of people search for it with Van Morrison's name, and very few with King Harvest.

  • @NotTooSharp That seems like kind of a slight at King Harvest, wouldn't you say?

  • @RyanStrikesAgain So many people thought it was Van singing....and he did "Moondance" and totally confused them again....but I really liked the calypso steel drums in Orleans's cover too.

  • Pretty good, just a couple things ...

The tempo is obviously off, too fast and just gets faster ... relax take a deep breath and then let it slide...As mentioned too many people competing for mic time. You could do this with one mic but your backups are called backups for a reason. Get them to back off a little and you've got a sweet cover.

  • boo. I'm sure it sounds phenomenal in person but your recording equipment is balls. good song choice though

  • This is the best version of this song that I've ever heard. Congratulations.

  • Better than woman

  • @everprod hey, despite your caustic tone, that is a good arranging strategy! listen to some of our newer arrangements, see how you like them.

  • @NotTooSharp Actually, the problem is with your recording and the fact that you've all circled one mic.

The tenors need to be away from the lead and near the bass and also controlled by using a nice dynamic mic, meanwhile the alto's will need their own mic as they will sound tinny on a mic set for a tennor, then let the lead sing into his own mic.

The song is very short and snappy so don't use long notes, but make sure all choiral depts sing together, not apart.

  • @badbav33 Ohh, so true- if only we had a decent sound guy... You wouldn't happen to live in New England would you?

  • @NotTooSharp Sorry guys I live in England (the older one lol)

I'd love to do your engineering, because I can hear the talent, you just need to catch the sound correctly!

  • wasnt the right song for this but nice try

  • I agree on the "awful" part.

  • Nichkhun anyone? This acappella is GREAT

  • Very Cool! Thanks for doing our tune.

  • no kidding walnutpearl, it sounds like all the people carrying the melodyy are trying to outsing the soloist... pathetic

  • that sounds awful

  • *Jumps up and down dancing*

Oops! I knocked over my lava lamp!!

    *laughs*

    It's all right!

    The lamp is Okay!

  • i like it! brad is great!!

  • 2nd guy from left is slightly off. Lead singer is good.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG :)
