  • Still love this sizzling band very-very much!!!

  • Definitely not lip synched. He flubbed one of my favorite lines (@2:02):

"Yes I believe, but I'd rather not pray. What I believe in I'd rather not say..."

The next line is supposed to be "Did your god show you the door?"

but instead he sings, "I know he did you wrong."

  • Love these guys and this song. They are amazing. Swing kings!

  • He Comes to play and Make Your Body parts shake :D

  • fucking excellent

  • WOW!

This is a great performance, but it's even better bcs the recording is so well done.

Infinitely better than the usual hand-held camera-phone trash that so many of the great performances here on YouTube get limited by. Taped from the soundboard mebbe?

However it was done, thanks so much for sharing it here.

  • these guys are so good

  • fuck yeah they are. for sure. the brass section is soooo crisp. its amazing

  • It's somehow inappropriate to make these guys play in broad daylight

  • @gitaargast

    soooooooooo true, hahaha

  • He screwed up the 2nd verse. He says "I know he did you wrong, well I'm here to eat your apple to the core." It is a partial repeat of the 1st verse which rhymes "I know he did you wrong, well, I'm here to give you what you wanted all along."

The real 2nd verse goes: "Did your God show you the door? Well, I'm here to eat your apple to the core."

  • All GOOD bands sing different lyrics live usually. Not untalented people such as britney spears!

  • yeah only when you lipsynch to a voicetrack do you sing it exactly like on the album

  • I agree with you, but I think in all likelihood it was probably an accident on the singers part. either way no big, still great

  • play irish whiskey!!!,,whooee!!!!

  • ah so i've just recently discovered these fellas... and this song just makes me all sorts of excited, its freeken' amazing. I was worried watching a live clip'd ruin it for me but nah, it's amazing live too! HOORAY!!

  • What a great performer! I saw them in Toronto on Halloween night 1998. Man, that was a great show! Good to see Steve's still got the energy!

  • I saw these guys for the first time on Thursday night in Newcastle in the UK. They were fucking awesome! Totally and utterly brilliant. As soon as they started up everyone started swing dancing and everything. Amazing gig.

  • They were in the UK!? I fucking missed it!! Noooooo!!!!

  • i was at that show. i love every song theses guys do. if you don't have Susquehanna their newest you should get it.

  • another shit comment on youtube, congrats!

  • One of their best songs...

Isnt there any official live video?

  • It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!

  • no cherry poppin daddies is from oregon gwar is from virginia

  • Yup. I've known Steve, Dan and the poys for a long time here in Eugene, Oregon. In fact, Dan lives right next door to me.

  • It's actually ironic you'd say that, because former GWAR guitarist Barry Ward has a cameo in CPD's first 'Zoot Suit Riot' video...

  • seriously? maybe that's why Sleazy is referenced in Pink Elephant :|

  • Cool swing. Check out "Giddyup Cowboy" by Michael Chain on Youtube

  • :D___

  • Divinely obscene...this whole album was pretty raunchy in a totally delicious way.

  • I def. agree !

  • This is what I love about this kind of music. They don't rely on huge amounts of effects and such, just their musical talent (which they have LOTS of). They sound almost EXACTLY like the recording live. These guys have insane amounts of innuendo in their lyrics.

  • Used to be my favorite song in their sets for yeaaars.

...okay so it still is, basically.

  • Great band. One of my favorites of all time.

    Can't wait for Susquehanna!

  • One of my fave Daddies songs! I'm glad they're back in some form. I miss these guys. Hope I'll get to somehow see em live since I missed the one opportunity to see them when they were going to come here. Luckily in a way though I think one of the band got sick and didn't make it anyway. Thanks for posting this.

  • steve's got moves! whoo! what'd i give to dance with him. =]

  • what happened to these guys????

  • They performed for a while, then they took a hiatus for some time. Now they are making a new album together.

  • SWEET! I cant wait

  • they have a myspace page and there's some clips of the new album there. I think it's on their website too. on myspace their id is cherrypoppindaddies. their website is just daddies dot com

  • this is my favorite song. its about a penis i think, which makes me like it more... ha

  • This guys were the bomb in the early 90s. I managed a few bands that played shows with them and they always brought the house down. They played with Mason Lane and Smokin Rhythm Prawns in Northern California a number of times.

  • i actually found out hes the vice princple at that school now. hes the biggest jerk dude.

  • SEX

  • aaah, Max's Tavern and Good Times seems like a life time ago.

  • Same here. Graduated U of O in 97'.

  • How about the Butte Tavern concerts, or drivin up to Portland to catch the daddies at the Satyricon?

  • Don't really care for this band , just did some reserch on them because the music teacher at my old school used to play in this band, hes a jerk now though, james was his name.

  • Yeah, I remember when James was in the band in the late 80s, I liked him!

  • thanks for sharing!

  • good, love cherry poppin daddies!!, GOOD DANCE STEVE!!
