  • How far away is the holding tank?

  • hey that one actually has a muffler, we always ran a pipe into a 55 gallon barrel with hatchet holes chopped in it

  • I'd like my boat to sound like rhat

  • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE VIDEO!

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  • ye amazing

  • the noise sounds like my old airconditioner

  • I've only seen these with electric motors.

  • That thing sounds like its just idling at low rpms! haha how many rpms does it run at?

  • Hey nice video, and thanks for the subscription!

  • what is the diferenz between a fairbanks and a normal otto engine?

  • There should be an ordinance against having unsupervised equipment running like this, without some sort of a physical barrier! This is inviting a lawsuit if someone gets hurt! This is a good video, nice to watch, but at the same time, the people in the area needs to be protected!

  • must be a small independent company... no guards.

  • tha ajaxes im workn on r pretty bad ass, but these pump jacks can run on the shittiest sour fuel gas arround. no dehy no scrubber no nothing just right outa the well and to the engine

  • Very nice engine / pump unit.

Is it all out of one hand, means did Fairbanks&Morse also produce the pump and gears? Where is the oil pumped to (pipeline/tank)?

Can a private person own a well like this, means is the oil his property and can he sell it for his own benefit?

  • @XELA2T

If you own the well you can get a cut of the profit.

  • Does it really use crude oil for lubrication?

  • @024reredrum no, it uses the gases that come out of a oil well, methane and such

  • cool a motor that literaly "runs on the smell of an oily rag"

  • The only lawsuit "should be the consequences of one's stupidity."

When "stupid" hurts, people usually get it.

Love the engines, by the way, and the fact that they're not fenced off i.e. you can trust your neighbors.

  • That is a 208 10hp..Still get new parts today. The engine base was the fuel tank as well...Unitil it shook apart from part operators and Pumping Unit crews that do not know how to dial in correctly..Any person that gets hurt on a lease deserves it. Like that Kid in Oklahoma that climbed a 10" fence and lost a arm.

  • That kid was retarded literally he had a "developmental disorder" I accidentally saw pics of the accident and it was pretty bad he actually lost both arms. And it serves him right. But at least none of his friends will be messing with a pump jack any time soon.

  • @LPV1974 How do you know they "deserve" it?

  • all these old engines amaze me. but what amazes me most on this vid is, theres no fence around it! just out in a field? hate to say it, but can anyone say lawsuit? unfortunately today you have to think those terms. :(

  • There are too many lawyers on this earth!

  • very true! its also the law. its not about personal responsibility anymore. its about who will be able to pay for an injury. nothing like public policy absolving peoples moronic actions.

  • @sw8741 And it takes away from the people who know better than to do something dumb with the machine since then everything gets locked away.

  • @oldengine1 the French revolution sort of culled them but they starting breeding again and made a come back.

  • @sw8741 I don't think I would run into any problems like that as I have an allergy to pain, so I don't do things without thinking of the conseqenses first.

  • @sw8741 Anyone who gets injured by this machine is too damn stupid to survive and deserves to be mauled. It's not like it's a terribly fast, small and/or unpredictable beast!

  • @sw8741 Two guys i worked with were trying to start one of these. One was a "mechanic"; always saying how smart he was. They hand cranked this thing for over an hour in the heat of summer; all it would do was "POP" once and die. I pulled up, asked them to try again. They did; I hit the intake valve with my hand once, un-sticking it, and it started right up. I left them, red faced, sweating, and spewing profanity. "If you guys need any more help, just call me!" gratifying...

  • @sw8741 I think its high times we start answering every one of those lawsuits with a counter suit for trespassing.

  • Beautiful.

  • How many horse power this produce? Sound like not much rpm ? And is moving such a big pump ! ?

  • @faboledesma If you look at how the pump is built the semi circular fly wheel is always going down as the pump side is going up. That means that the weight of the fly wheel pulls the oil up out of the well. As the fly wheel goes back up the pump side goes down to balance it. All the engine does is keep it moving. :)

  • My grandfather used to pump his sweet crude with an engine that ran on lightly filtered crude. It was fed from the well oil and ran well appart from the smoke. Because of the high carbon production it required new piston rings every other year.

  • love that fairbanks morse sound

  • how much fuel will that engine consume in a day of work????

  • It's running on well-head gas, which would otherwise be wasted into the atmosphere. I doubt that it needs a significant amount of gas to operate.

  • only way to pump oil

  • So can any one roll up to this machine and start her up?

  • Anyone can roll up to it, but it's already running. (24/7)
