whats the story with the bearskin caps of the royal 22nd rgt...the caps look larger and thicker than the bearskins worn by the royal regiment of canada...canadian guards ect.....is it from the female bear? in the british guards the officers bearskins and larger and softer than those worn by nco/guardsmen who wear the skin from the male bear....and a goat mascot? usually found in welsh regiments....good job boys!.....marty

@philbox17 the english never killed half the populastion. the acadians were retribution to the scottish colony in nova scotia which the french eradicated 100 years before. the blankets you speak of were also found in residential schools run by french catholics. so again you're a little lying shit.

@UpstairsMaid 1/4 of the Acadians who were deported, in Louisiana by the ways, died from sickness. Thouzands of people died during the 1759 invasion, official number say 1/3. Wolfe basicly burned all the farm along the Saint-Lawrence and many more died from famine. In New France, all men between 16 and 66 fought either in the Army or in the French Canadian militia, most of them die during the 7 years of the war. So I say half the population died.

@UpstairsMaid what you say about blankets in catholic school is not true, but it is true that natives suffer oppression and discrimination in catholic school all arround Canada. Those school were run by French, Irish, Scottish and English priest. The "Catholic Church" or the "Vatican" is not run by Québec or by the French, it is a totally independant state inside Rome, their church and school arround the world are like their embassy.

@philbox17 first of all the blanket stories are well documented and catholicresidential schools run by french canadianspriests and nuns had the highest mortality rates in the system - some topping out at 55%. further the other achools were not state run, but run by churches - anglican, presbyterian and united. don't try to pretend that the policy of assimilation maintained under french and english canadian prime ministers was due to the vatican.
