I liked watching the show for a different reason than most.I'm a mother of four young children and i justed turned 26!!I watch the way Kate parents her children because i kinda take notes on how she handles certain situations and i use that to help me in similiar ways.I also believe that she is a strong women and she is my role model:)

Besides looking after their brood, I think being exposed daily to the public does contribute substantial pressures for them, causing a meltdown. I hope they, as a whole family, can ride through this 'storm'. Can see AND feel the couple still love each other, but each side couldn't stop being hurtful in terms of using gestures or words. I remember catching their earliest episodes & couldn't help envying them. Now, I'm saddened and not watching it anymore; I didn't expect the no-fairytale ending.

I am more angry at Jon in this whole situation. I think he was overwhelmed by the stress and responsibility and he left. Now it seems like all he cares about it screwing around and partying. Besides looking after their brood, I think being exposed daily to the public does contribute substantial pressures for them, causing a meltdown. I hope they, as a whole family, can ride through this 'storm'. Can see AND feel the couple still love each other, but each side couldn't stop being hurtful in terms of using gestures or words. I remember catching their earliest episodes & couldn't help envying them. Now, I'm saddened and not watching it anymore; I didn't expect the no-fairytale ending.

I am more angry at Jon in this whole situation. I think he was overwhelmed by the stress and responsibility and he left. Now it seems like all he cares about it screwing around and partying. From what I have seen, if it were up to Kate, they would still be together. I can't imagine seeing my husband out with a new girlfriend having a good time while she has the kids most of the time. She had her moments where she was tough on him but thats marriage and they have 8 kids. I would be stressed too.

i can't really form a solid opinion on this. i go from blaming jon for leaving his wife with 8 kids, but then i watch episodes and see how badly she criticized and belittled him in front of his kids and i'm like "how could he stay?" but then it's like, when u have 8 kids, should your own personal happiness matter. but then she treats him like a butler and blames him for how she treats him and i'm back at square one. it just seems like a really bad situation with no easy, fair solution

Do they realize that the show split them up? No one would be banging babysitters, divorcing or whatever it is before the show... they simply couldn't afford it with 8 kids.
America will chew them up and inevitably spit them out when the kids suddenly aren't so cute and innocent. What then? Will they both launch acting careers? Because that child support bill would be awfully big.
