  • Yeah, if you liked the Camaro you could have saved yourself some money. I love mine, as a full package. I may buy the new 2011 Mustang but I could never buy an F-Body. To each their own. Sucks that it disappointed.

  • Definitely, they were asking 11k for the Camaro and I got my Mazda for sticker price because I was cocky and didn't talk the price down. The MS6 didn't really dissapoint, per se. When I had it (August-December 2007) there was hardly any aftermarket and after the rear diff brace broke at 9,945 miles I was trying to trade the car in every weekend to no avail. Plus a $610/mo car payment was rediculous!

  • Yeah I've driven an 01 SS, definitely straightline faster, but I don't think it has anything on it in handling. It dives really hard and rolls. It love lifting it's nose on accel which is really bad for track racing. Camaro drag. MS6 track, hands down.

  • I dunno, my MS6 seemed to have endless amounts of body roll but still cornered fairly well...Who knows? If I had my way I would've gotten the 00 SS I was looking at any day, still don't know what made me get the Mazda.

  • I know what you mean. The MS3/MS6 exhaust is very restrictive, so when adding Test pipe, TBE, or downpipe. The thing opens up!! I felt a huge difference with the Test pipe. Especially 3rd+ It just pulls a lot better! I'm sure the gains will keep exceeding when i add the CAI. I don't want to put a cone filter, I just bought and replaced the stock panel filter with a K&N panel filter.

    Yeah too bad you still didn't have your MS6, I'm sure you probably would of had one of the fastest MS6's out there

  • LOL....I love Muscle especially old school!! My dad had a 70Chevelle SS with a 396 with no traction bars. So everytime he would race it would bounce like a basketball taking off. He beat a camaro taking off in 3rd gear. I think it ran low 12's, 11's on slicks.

    I just find it funny how you shave weight off a car and put a little 4-cylinder honda motor in it and it will run 13's or 12's.

    My next goal is 2 get Mazdaspeed CAI, and Downpipe. I already got PG test pipe and it opened it up A lot.

  • The cone filter and running open dp or taking off one muffler made a world of difference on my Mazda. One or the other made was a good change but the filter + one of the exhaust "mods" made it a really fun car, I wish I didn't get let go from my awesome job last year after having the car for only 5 weeks or else I'd probably have one of the fastest (or faster) MS6's out there. But, can't do that now, oh well! :(

  • I get what your saying heavy or not, 12secs is 12secs. Don't matter if its a LS1 or MS6!! What's really impressive is a little naturally aspirated 4-cylinder running 12's with little mods compared to a naturally aspirated V8. A V8 frees up more horsepower than a 4-cylinder would. For some reason you seem like a nutswinger!! at first i remember you defending the MS6 when you owned it, and now that you don't even own it. you talk about F-bodys because your going to get one, dont take it personal

  • I've always like the F-Body more and kicked myself in the ass for not getting an 00 SS isntead of my MS6 but that's besides the point. I still defend the MS6 in the same breath as shitting down it's throat. It would be a KILLER car if Mazda put better stock parts in it, but they made all the owners test drivers pretty much since so many parts fall short of the cars stock potential. I will admit I am an LSx nutswinger, those engines are touched by the hand of god, anyone knows that. 500 chars

  • Not knocking F-bodies but they are weak down here in the valley. Most car's that are fast are Mitsu's, subaru's, and Hondas. No Domestics around can hang. Only domestic that's fast is a guy named (nate)nathan- runs mid 9's@145mph!! anything else all f-body stangs, LS1 camaros, and old school muscle are weak. Not knocking them, i like them alot. But seriously they are weak around here. Everyone in a Honda here is running 12's or less. thanks to swaps, weight reduction and the bottle for that..lol

  • Good, for the most part imports get shit on around here (The Northeast). There are some quick ones like my buds gutted 90 GSX, makes like 450whp on 28lbs on a tiny turbo. Got the hopped up Evos and STis but not many built, not bought vehicles around. A fast car is a fast car, I could care less what the make is but full weight, fast cars are where it's at.  My Bravada weighs 4,200lbs, full leather interior and all and runs 12.8's with a couple bolt ons. I love it.

  • my boys got fast honda's. My MS6 is a joke compared to their car's. Only mod on the MS6 is a PG test pipe, and i'm looking for MS CAI. My boy has got a 96 Civic coupe stripped and gutted weighing in at little over 1500lbs. Has a 94 B18B LS motor swap, LS tranny, Aluminum flywheel/6-puck clutch, crower cams, crower valve-springs/Ti-Retainers, 4000rpm 2-step launch control and 65 wet-shot Zex kit!! ran low 12.3-12.4@ 108-109mph all day on street tires Never got a chance to run on slicks. DATS FAST

  • No, they are not very slow stock. I disagree. Mine was fast stock, that's why I bought it. Now it's much faster and I don't have any ghetto parts on it. Nor did I do any ghetto work to my exhaust.

  • Mine was a freak or I broke it in properly because I never lost to an MS6 or MS3 but that's besides the point. LS1 F-Bodies are great stock, gears, lid and exhaust you have 12's easy. My Bravada will tear your eyeballs off from a dig, 500+ tq will do that. MS6's lack punch when stock, even just an intake/cone filter will make a noticeable diference in how quick the turbo spools. Stock = Slow and not very fun, intake and/or exhaust and it's a really fun car after that.

  • No, actually they are very slow stock. I hope you aren't talking about me not having driving skills or knowing how to shift because I certainly did both in this video. F-Bodies outperform MS6's in every category and they even both have notoriously weak rear ends/rear end parts. :)

  • mine just got hit last month by a bitch in an SUV. minor body damage but she knocked the suspension out of whack so my guys had the entire suspension, wheels and tires replaced. thank god cuz boy to i rip on that suspension. and new tires! ahahaha! zing!

  • Nice man, the one that hit me did just shit of $20,000 in damage and it was an 07 Sport with 13.8k miles on it so it was totalled out. Tranny case got smashed to pieces, lots of expensive underhood pieces damaged and the whole body was buckled from the front to the back.

  • my ms6 check engine light only goes on for the gas cap. you need an ATP VES if you like that sort of sound for your car. then it would be legal at least.

  • That's amazing, really, but the check engine light was on in MY Mazda because I just had a cone filter on the end of the stock tubing. TRUST ME, I'm pretty sure I know why the code was on unless the OBDII scanner was just lying to me. I don't need shit for my car since it hasn't been mine in 3 months, it was totalled in December by some bitch in a minivan.

  • guy you obviously havn't done your research, i have a 07 black msp6 and the engine light went on and off and i don't drive it like an idiot. There was 2 recals on engine parts, one of them being a spiral valve that was sticking. Just cause the engine light goes on doesn't mean its cause you were driving like an idiot. And KFCOrBust, unless you own a fucking m3 or something you cannot say MS6's are slow, there are certainly faster cars out there but they are in no fucking way slow

  • This is like half a year late, but yes they are slow. No I don't own an M3, they aren't fast either, I ran my buddies 06 M3 6 Speed from a 25 roll and we came out even at 125mph. I have a 400~hp Bravada in my stable and soon to be added an LS1 Trans Am WS6 6 Speed. MS6's are slow.

  • Right...My Bravada that had pretty much everything possible out of a GMC Typhoon that it could have. Engine/Tranny, suspension, 16x8 wheels w/ Z rated tires. For an early 90s SUV it nearly pulled .90 on the skidpad.

    I never said I had a Trans Am now did I? I said soon to be added, well soon is taking longer than I expected but I still don't have one regardless. Have you ever ridden in/driven one? You probably have no idea how well they handle for being a "POS American V8" with a SRA.

  • Hey KFCOrBust I am a former Ls1 trans am owner wich I sold and bought my 09 speed3 and the trans am could never keep up on the track with eather the speed3 or the speed6.

  • Uh, no. Stock for stock an LS1 F Body will run from a Speed3 or Speed6. Hell if you want to compare 1/4 mile numbers, a good running, good driver Speed6 will run 13.7 @ 98ish mph. A good running, good driver F-Body will run low 13s/high 12s @ 106~ mph.

    F-Body = Faster than any Mazda Speed vehicle.

  • Ok who the hell runs a stock Ls1 F body, at minimum they all have exhaust and intake, and everyone knows that the Mazda speed3 and speed6 stock air box and stock exhaust really hold back power. If you put an intake and exhaust on the Speeds they gain big hp and torque numbers and will run next to Ls1 Cameros all day. I have raced plenty of them. Now if your talking about on a track the Ms3 will loose at the line every time no surprise fwd vs. rwd

  • Nah dude, I did intake and exhaust mods to my Speed6 and even a stock LS1 would still be faster.

    Stock for stock the F-Body is faster, mod for mod, the F-Body is faster.

    I think it's funny that a supposed F-Body owner such as yourself calls the Camaro a "Camero". It's not a typo, it's just dumbness at its finest.

  • Even a stock F-Body would trounce a bolt on Speed6, probably on a track too. I've driven both, maybe not the Camaro as hard as my Speed6, but the Camaro was faster for sure.

    Sure, the 10 bolt is weak and if you were lame enough to get the automatic, the 4L60E is not the proper transmission to back it. The T56 on the other hand is pretty tough if you aren't a toolbag

    Keep saying the Camaro is junk, wait til something breaks on your Speed3, which something WILL, trust me I'd know, watch how the dealer will refuse to cover anything under warranty and claim it was broken due to abuse.

  • Im not going to pretend I know that much about the car because like I said I went out on a whim when I bought it and I have always had tuners but it was a 99 with the 6 speed and it had 61k miles on it when I bought it very clean nice looking car but I couldnt afford to fix everything that was wrong with it and the stuff I did fix, rebuilt the rear end twice and put a new clutch in, just kept going out so I said fuck it.

  • Rebuilding a 10 bolt is pretty much a waste of money. I'd rather be without a car for a while so I could save money for a 12 bolt or a 9 inch.

    With that said, I wouldn't mind owning another Speed6, despite having some shit ass parts it was still a fun car to beat the fucking balls off of.

  • Nah actually the camera and video camera are on the highest settings since I have a 1gb mini sd card. It just looks like shit because it is shit, I'm in the market for a good camcorder because I've missed out on a lot of good footage lately.
