Power lines are fine. 1) Bird shot very quickly loses it's momentum. 2) lead pellets will not damage voltage lines because the wires are made of a harder metal. Pretty simple.

Safety is out the door on this one. I'll give it for the powerlines, it probably isnt really a danger. However when he tosses a clay, the loaded gun is pointed quite far backwards, towards the cameraman or whoever else is back there. Regardless of how good the trick is you are unsafe and don't deserve to be shooting.

All you people whining about shooting at the powerlines are clueless. First, Transmission powerlines are not insulated or jacketed, they are bare wire. Secondly, a shotgun shell load loses most of its energy very shortly after it leaves the barrel. By the time the pellets reach the lines which are clearly quite far away, they are essentially slow moving bbs hitting solid aluminum cable. In other words, its not gonna do jack shit. Im a lineman, I build/fix powerlines for a living.

That range needs to be moved! The power company should sue the proprietors of that range.. A lot of that pelting of the aluminum power lines is not good and weakens them.. a good wind could later bring them down.... My power goes off enough even without shooting the lines....
